Thanks, everyone!

@bollard: Which wildcard was it?

@turboman: My thought on non-lethal weapons was that a "kill" with them just means you have to knock the target out with them + snap neck. They're too fun not to have in the mix, but maybe I need an extra instruction for them.

@imhungry: Yeah, good suggestion. This was just a quick first pass at this because I thought it would be faster than printing out cards, but more control over the generation could be a useful next step.

Inspired by the Hitsmas video, I was about to print out a bunch of paper cards for a home version when I realized it might be easier to create a simple web app instead.

The result is the HITMAN Challenge Generator

Thanks to @aceblack19 for most of the wildcard suggestions. Enjoy and Merry Hitsmas!

I really enjoyed The Castle Doctrine. In fact, I think it's one of the best — and most overlooked — games this year.

I just put my thoughts on it in a review here if you're interested. I also found @pyrodactyl's experience with the Vinn Co. murder house to be pretty spot-on as far as explaining why this game is compelling.

At this point, I'm (a) convinced this was one of the most interesting games to come out this year and (b) sad that there aren't more people still playing it. I think a lot of people here might really like it if they tried it, but the developer has pretty much guaranteed he will never put it on sale.

So here's how I intend to solve the player population problem: I bought a bunch of copies in bulk and I'm giving them away in a few places. I have as many as ten Steam keys for The Castle Doctrine available for GB folks.

To get a copy, you need to be an active GB forum member and:

  1. Send me a GB message declaring that you want a copy.
  2. Actually install and play the game in earnest. If you can't get to at least $10k net worth, you haven't really played The Castle Doctrine. Keep going until you get there.
  3. Post your thoughts/tips/stories in this thread.
  4. If you end up enjoying the game and think it is worth $16, buy a copy on Steam for someone else and pass it along.

Please actually be prepared to do 2 and 3 above. Don't just grab for a free Steam key. See you in The Castle Doctrine!

There was a Nintendo Network ID sharing thread on this forum earlier today. I still see the post I made there on my profile, but the thread appears to be gone: http://www.giantbomb.com/wii-u/60-139/wii-u-network-id-share-thread/35-567603/

Anyone know why the thread disappeared? More importantly, anyone willing to start a more official new one? Sorry to create a separate thread just to ask this question, but I won't have consistent internet access this week, so ideally someone who can maintain a first-post ID mapping table would create the thread.

Cheers!

Hey, so Google+ now has this neat shared circle feature, whereby I can take all the profiles in this thread and put them into a subscription-ready circle, like so...

You've given me some hope that perhaps we can get some people together to play, so I'll stay tuned. Ping me anytime if you need any help organizing something or just want to group up for some leveling or lower-level BAMs/instances.

I realize that I forgot to mention that my character's name is "Valens". Also, big thanks to Yalora ( and Pukyuk (don't know your GB name) for the party earlier this evening. Leveling does indeed go significantly faster in groups, so it was great to have your help.

Thanks for approving my application!

I've been spending some time in TERA this past week, mostly exploring and questing, and I'm really enjoying it. The combat (as a sorcerer) is engaging and the world is beautifully realized. The hallmark of a good MMO for me is a world that conveys a sense of place, and I think Arborea manages to do that rather well.

The guild looks like it may not be particularly active at this point, but hopefully I'll see at least a few of you online in-game.
