I don't understand why you think the moderators need to clean anything up here. Reading through the comments no one has been egregiously shitty. There are strong opinions on both sides and people are defending their opinions, some more aggressively than others. No one has to like anything I, or anyone else says. Not liking what is said does not merit moderation.

I have no problem with allegations being brought to light, they should be discussed and looked into in a respectful and understanding manner. This doesn't mean GB has to (re)act the way you want them to.

I believe GB actively tries to create a safe space for all, but the unattainable perfection some of you expect is frankly ridiculous.

Abby quickly reacted to the allegations about Merritt on the fly with the episode note. Now it's time to give her the opportunity to discuss it further with the other staff. It's the weekend, they deserve to decompress.

Before we all drown in conjecture, we owe the GB team a fair amount of time to come to a full understanding of this situation and respond. If they don't respond by the next Beastcast then we can all pull our torches and pitchforks out. If they respond and we don't like or agree with said response than we are free to leave.

Abby, and all of Giant Bomb try their best to produce a welcoming space. I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

I also searched multiple times using multiple search engines to find information on Merritt K. The only thing I found was on the Giant Bomb subreddit, which linked to Twitter. The post was from after the Beastcast. It was still hard to parse. Most of it to me just seemed like someone not liking someone else's work and being sh*tty about certain opinions.

The witch-hunting and attmpted cancellation of anyone who's not unrealistically perfect needs to stop.

Having a civil discussion about your feelings is fine, acting enraged over every little mistake and micro-aggression, perceived or real, leads to a no sum game.

It's okay to always expect and strive for better, but if you look at yourself in the mirror and think you're perfect, then you're lying.
