On the May 9th, 2017 Bombcast, Ben mentioned an idea for a post-match map in PUB-Jee where you could see everyone's paths over time. While I like the idea, it got me thinking about just how cool it would be for this game to have a Halo 3 style theater mode, that would locally save a "film" of the entire match that you could open up later and fly a camera around and see where everybody went and when.

From what I remember, the file sizes would be relatively small compared to actual video files, because all the file contained was a little player movement data that would render its self in the game engine. This also got me wondering why more games didn't attempt to replicate this feature as time went on. I, for one, would love to be able to watch some of the "Murder Island" matches after they're done from each of their perspectives with a camera that I can control and see what they may have missed.

That also got me wondering as to why a theater mode like feature hasn't been implemented in more games? What are your thoughts on it in general?

This is the correct answer.

There was just a new homebrew thing released for the vita called vitamin that allows for game piracy on the vita, that is most likely what he was talking about.

Should there be a rule for this?

Separate pages for each discovered planet? A master list with coordinates?

Anyone have any better ideas?

I'm not sure how else to expand on this thought I had.

We have games like "the Crew" which play in a small scale USA due to data restrictions. In theory, could they use similar algorithms as No Man's Sky, focus it around one planet earth (and maybe moon) and make an open world at 1 to 1 scale for the full planet?

I don't think it's necessary for all VR games, but it would be cool if they could get something like what these guys did:

edit: I should add that this is not a criticism of the Golem QL which I thought was great :-)

Even though that looks nice, I think it's a really bad way to present a VR game, specially on a QL, since it doesn't show the players POV nor best represents what the player is doing. The best way to go with it is the same way they went with Kinect games and the way they did with the first video. A screen of one of them with the googles, other screen with what he's seeing. That's enough and easy to understand for the viewer.

Actually, in the video they would cut between the Players POV and a third person fly-cam to show from multiple angles.

It is also J-pop's biggest volley back at K-pop for the crazy catchy music crown.

One day, I hope to hear BABYMETAL on the radio as much as we heard Gangnam Style

They're not very good, music wise (as you'd expect from something manufactured like this) but it's still quite fun to see. It's more a spectacle than anything else.

I wish some of our North American "manufactured" music sounded more like this.
