Blocking is better than dodging in that fight. Granted at that point I had a black knights shield, and sword. Killing the dogs as fast as possible by backing up to a wall and just blocking until you get a chance to counter them is the best course of action first.
Then you figure out his attack pattern, and start POKING at him and just widdling him down while staying safe behind the shield.
If you're having that much put on the ring you get from killing havel, the 50% increased carry load really helps if you want to carry some heavy armor while quickrolling.
If you're going for all unique weapons, I don't think black knight weapons will be any trouble compared to stuff like Priscillas tail, which you have to cut off an invisible Priscilla or Seath's tail, who will gladly one-shot you if you try to go behind him. Ha! Ha! You're in the first area - I wouldn't even worry about that stuff on your first playthrough.
When you hit her she stops being invisible, cutting her tail off is super easy.
Yeah Priscilla is really easy. Seath is a pain and should be done with two people. One distracts from the front and the other hits the tip of the middle tail.
Did you really find it that hard to get seath's tail? I remember equiping my "quicky" sword, and just poking at it for a few mins when he was using the "crystal beam" on the ground. It wasn't that difficult :-P
I wish there were people like Gabe in every industry. So that when somebody was treated like shit by someone, they could just pop him an email and everything would be alright.
Flip a coin. They're both pretty amazing. though i freaking love Darksouls, and would play that first, mostly since they're so different approaches to storytelling. and you really need some time both before and after skyrim to actually absorb it.
