So I bought the Call of Duty: War Collection (Xbox 360) which includes Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, and Call of Duty World at War. I just finished Call of Duty 2 and started Call of Duty 3. Wow, what a difference. Call of Duty 3 seems like such crap after playing a very well polished game, for it's time of course. Compared to Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3 has horrible controls, tons of bugs/glitches, and horrible AI. I've seen enemies float off into the sky, teammates run right in front of enemies and neither of them shoot at each other, and I've shot enemies at point blank range and they don't go down, took 4 or 5 shots until they actually went down. Also, what is with the shooting guys and the helmet pops into the air 4 feet?? And the cheesy dialog... well I guess that is fairy common in a lot of shooters now anyway. I think I'm still less than a quarter threw the game, so I may for more comments later.
Can't stop playing the game. Keep thinking "what if I did that instead?" This might be the game that I get my first platinum trophy!
I've encountered a few minor bugs, but the biggest problem I have with the game is the character movement. I understand why they did it, but like many people it can get really frustrating trying to move around objects.
So I've been spending a lot of time thinking about which version of Modern Warfare to get, PS3 or Xbox 360.
I only have a few gaming friends. 3 of them might or is considering getting it. One of them is getting it for PC (I don't play PC games anymore), one doesn't know what he's getting it for, and the other is PS3 only and may not get it for a few months.
I prefer the 360 controller for FPS games.
360 version seems to perform better according to http://www.lensoftruth.com/?p=16236
I have COD4 on 360, but that's not a reason to get MW2 on 360.
There will be more 360 players than PS3 players for the multiplayer, but both are going to have more than enough players.
Just tried Band Hero Demo and Guitar Hero 5 Demo. They are the same game, just different songs. Is that the deal?? Band hero just has more family oriented music?? I don't know. I'll stick with the Rock Band franchise. GO HARMONIX!!
This is more of a note to remind myself not to buy ODST at the insane price of $70 CDN.
First of all, I refuse to buy any game at $70 now. It's just gotten out of hand. $60 is my limit.
Second, We shouldn't have to pay full price for what a lot of people feel is just an expansion pack. Granted it works on its own with out the need for Halo 3, but the campaign is so short (5-7 hours), and the multiplayer is just Halo 3, which almost all of us have anyway. I bet there is less than 1% of people who are getting ODST and don't have Halo 3.
I will wait till it's $40 CDN. to buy ODST. I know that might be a while, but I can wait. Besides, Modern Warfare 2 and God of War Collection is coming in less than 2 months and I still have quite a few games I'm working on right now anyway.
Wasn't expecting to get the Limited Edition of Beatles Rock Band for Xbox 360 on Releae day, but sure enough I was lucky enough to get it. Didn't even go early. Went in the evening after supper to Toys R Us. I said to my wife, there's a 90% chance they don't have it because I was at Best Buy earlier after work and they only goy 8 in and they all sold out in 1 hour after opening! Toys R Us still at 4 boxes left, plus a bunch of boxes for Wii and PS3.
There was a part of me that did't think I would be able to get it at all. I was waiting for the Rock Band 2 wireless guitar ever since it came out, and I'm starting to think that Canada never got it at all!!
Also, I'm suppose to mention in this blog that I'm suppose to get my wife the new iPod Nano that was announced today. The one with the video camera built in and a 0.2" larger display.
Speaking of iPod, I was hoping that the iPod Touch would be getting a camera in the 3rd generation. I have the 1st generation and didn't think the 2nd gen was worth it to upgrade and was hoping the 3rd gen would be worth it. Turns out, at least for me, it's not worth it up upgrade.
