My initial reaction was that the barrels were children as well, but upon reflection it makes more sense that they are a rewards/incentive for the Trico to continue bringing children (which are consumed by the Master).

My interpretation of the two sets of eyes is one belong to "our" Trico, and the other a Tricoling (offspring between our companion and the surviving evil Trico we see while flying out of the Nest).

Something I've seen multiple places is people seem to think the "It won't survive long" line is being said by the boy, it was fairly obvious to me it was actually said by the man carrying him (village elder/his father).

@gingeros27: Precisely. In the end this will amount to nothing.

I think it's fairly clear that despite their 180, MS simply doesn't get it, and anyone who sees this move as more than superficial is silly, in my opinion. Pretty much the only way MS was getting my money was if they brought games that vastly outshone Sony's, instead they showed up with another Halo (yawn).

Yess. I loved the hell out of Origins and was bummed I wouldn't be able to play Legends. Thanks, Ubi :)

@oasisbeyond: This. A million times this. Unfortunately a lot of the recent political history of the US can be characterized by glossing over/ignoring the real issues in favor of making things more palatable to the masses.

EDIT: Also I completely agree with the stance that merely participating in the VP's circle jerk is an admission of guilt, and something that should be avoided in the future

A day later and I still can't believe that Vigil got the shaft.

$100 is less than fifteen hours of minimum wage work, the argument that this could stop anyone who is serious about getting their game published befuddles me.

It's very strange to me that Valve is pursuing this, considering that most hardcore Linux users are running it on crappy little netbooks that won't be able to handle modern games. Everyone else has it partitioned and will continue playing on Windows *shrugs*

Sounds like a really interesting concept, I'll be interested to see how it plays out

I'm having this same problem, using Firefox 13.0.1. Haven't tried in any other browsers.
