I quit like 8 hours in. I was bored out of my skull and tired of running around mazes of areas and "exploring" lame fucking planets. this coming from a guy who loves almost anything space related. Especially if I can fly the universe, exploring and kicking ass. Yet I really couldn't give a shit less about the game.

I'd rather watch a old shit episode of Star Trek.. which says a lot considering I hate Star Trek. (Firefly all the way woooo)

Geek shit aside, I hear the 2nd game was more action and less planet buggy repetition bullshit. Might be worth a rental. I really did want to like the first but it was just poorly designed.

@The_Laughing_Man: I just turned off my xbox or I would check, but I saw one 'I did it!'' at Ceaseless, other then that nothing for the most part of Demon ruins.

At the top of blight tonight. NONE from firelink to this point. Somthing has to be wrong. I mean..its like everyone abonded the game. Seeing if I can invade a world in Blight town.... Doesnt look like it.

That is really odd. It HAS to be a tech issue. On the PS3 version I see stuff constantly. You don't even have to be within soul level to see another person's msg on the ground.

I'm guessing because there're still testing it out and it's only for premium members now, once its ready and for everyone it'll probably count.

Wait so people pay them to be guinea pigs?

lol...

BadCompany 2 was more polished and a better game in both versions of the game, Beta, and full.

No it wasn't, dude. BC2 crashed for me every other game, my stats didn't record for the first month, and I had to play in dx9 because dx11 brought me down to 20 fps with a Radeon 5770 in any resolution or graphics setting. Stop rewriting history.

Agreed. BC2 was a mess of issues. Console and PC both. I find it funny 3 still has the same issues with VOIP that all the others have.

How many of these beta threads need to be made anyway? It is always by people who have no idea what a beta is. It isn't a demo you retards. Of course the released game is better.

Definition:

A beta test is a limited release of a product with a goal of finding bugs before the final release. Software testing is often referred to by the terms "alpha" and "beta."

Generally speaking, the alpha test is an internal test to find bugs, and the beta test is an external test. During the alpha phase, the product is opened up to employees of the company and, sometimes, friends and family. During the beta phase, the product is opened up to a limited number of customers.

Sometimes, beta tests are referred to as "open" or "closed". A closed beta test has a limited number of spots open for testing, while an open beta has either an unlimited number of spots (i.e. anyone who wants to can participate) or a very large number of spots in cases where opening it up to everyone is impractical.

Does that sound like a demo? If you think so then please remove yourself from the gene pool already.

You should decide a couple things,

  1. what type of game do you want to make, a text based adventure, a 3d first person shooter, a 2d dungeon crawler.
  2. are you going to make your own engine or will you use a preexisting one.

i would suggest www.gamedev.net they have all types of resources for all types of game developers.

Yea he about covers it. I would just add be prepared to hunker down for hundreds if not thousands of hours. If you are not ready for the work load then you will not get far.

Personally I think someone should complete a game before reviewing. Then again he may have in 5 hours because most reviewers play on easy or normal.. Isn't the longest game in the world. I don't get the anger over a review. It is one guy's opinion. Nothing more nothing less.

Example: Everyone gave Bayonetta great reviews.. I on the other hand see the game as nothing more than a coaster to set my beer upon. See how that works?

Actually, it's slightly more powerful than those systems. It would be surprising because GTA isn't a franchise typically associated with a Nintendo launch. Plus, GTA has never happened on a non-handheld Nintendo system.

Do you have actually spec information with sources or are you just speculating that it will be slightly more powerful?

This all day.

Lets even assume this to be true for fun.. How many of you here would buy a 300+ dollar console, for a very "slight" increase. Considering you all have friends on the systems you own now that will be running the game all the same.. seriously.. anyone? Was something on the news last night about how nintendo is bleeding out money.. 1 billion in losses in the last 6 months according to them. If they don't handle this right they are toast. But hey at least we would finally get Zelda and the other rehashes of 30 year old franchises on our preferred consoles, if they were forced to sell off like Sega (sniff)..

I wont be buying a Wii U. I don't care what anyone claims, it is not the start of the next generation, it is late to this one. It will probably be respectably more powerful than 360 and PS3, but the next MS and Sony consoles will certainly dwarf it, so I'll wait for those. Plus Nintendo's online functionality is garbage, their online store makes PSN look elegant and they always insist on using some oddball media format and silly ass controller.

Get out of my head.

@The_Laughing_Man: Were you in Party Chat? As it turns off online mode for that. Otherwise sounds like it hadn't connected properly.

I am fully online. Maybe Im just in a empty lobby? Saw the first Gargoyal. No signs at all..nothing I am human. This is kinda crappy.

I really don't know what to say. I was at the launch and there were lots of Xbox guys there. It could be server issues. I really don;t know what else it would be. Try their forum at the dark souls site.. if they have one. Maybe there is something on an issue there.
