Haven't played Jade Empire but I'd imagine using something where you can choose a number of techniques which you can utilise. It wouldn't work as a normal RPG, this one needs to be an ation-RPG and with very fluid control so if you're waterbending it's important that you move correctly so your techniques are more powerful.

@WarlordPayne: Avatar is a kid's show, but it does have amazing writers and directors along with good voice acting, so I guess if it's possible to get the writers from the show working together with a developer who knows how to do a good action-RPG it could be pretty good.

Kinda surprised that nobody in this thread has yet to don the tough guy act in jest.

I just take that as proof that the Giant Bomb forums have some pretty level-headed and good people.

In any given social group there are bound to be at least 5% dipshits. I guess it's more in online play since most people who use mic either only use it when they're playing with a friend or if they in this case like to show other people their IQ niveau. It's like the guy yelling loudest in a group is rarely the one who got something intelligent to say.

But just out of curiosity, how did he know you were black. Did you say it or did he just guess it and was correct?

Holy S#it! Are people here serious? It doesn't matter that people give to charity because of something like that. The way I see it, this guy behind it has two reasons for it:

1: To show people that people disappointed with the ending isn't just whiny kids with entitlement issues

and 2: In the hope that BioWare will notice and perhaps do something.

And do anybody here seriously think that the people donating really does it just in the hope of BioWare creating a new ending.

It's definately a reason, but they give to charity because it's for a good cause. And if BioWare listens, then hooray you succeeded, if not, well the kids will still get their toys either way. Just read what people on this thread, who has donated, says.

Encephalon here above gave 10$ and does not actually believe BioWare is going do anything.

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding the article. It does not say that gamers are lonely misogynistic teenage douchebag.

#5 and #4 is just pointing out, how gamers are perceived by people who don't really get gaming and sadly, game devolopers.

#3, however is BS. He just points out how games are basically B-level storytelling by using first-person-shooters as examples, not even mentioning Half-Life and while admitting BioShock has great writing but still says it sucks because 90% of the game consists of shooting. You know BioWare? The first-person-shooter game where you can use plasmids in inventive ways. That game's story is worth shit because you occasionally shoot some enemies.

Only #2 and #1 are about gamers, but pointing out some overreacting idiots and pirates as representations of the gaming community is just cheap and ruins any credibility.

Although I was rather depressed by the fact that a quarter of gamers just decided to pirate a game, where you could choose how much you wanted to give, directly off the developers' servers.

Metacritic as a site is not so bad. I primarily use Giant Bomb as a main review, but I think it is important to find out what the census is. But reading the user reviews on Metacritic is stupid. People are just giving it 0's and 10's to have as big as possible impact on the collective score.

It may also have to do with Metacritic's twitter-like reviews. You can only write around 160 characters. I'm not sure but it may be an idea to make people write some longer reviews, like on Giant Bomb. Most of the user reviews I've read here are mostly rational. Mostly...

Really.

How so? It's their opinion. I doubt all of them have played the game, but still.

Have you read some of those reviews?

"I kept my silence when Mass Effect 3 announced he wanted to create an atmosphere that may temporarily energize or exhilarate but which, at the same time, will pose the gravest of human threats. I did nothing when he tried to stifle the voices of those who are simply seeking to be heard. But his latest prank phone calls are the straw that breaks the camel's back. The rest of this letter is focused exclusively on Mass Effect 3, not because I harbor any ill-will towards him but because he drops the names of famous people whenever possible. That makes Mass Effect 3 sound smarter than he really is and obscures the fact that he believes it's perfectly okay to separate people from their roots and cut their bonds to their natural communities. More than anything else, such beliefs shed light on Mass Effect 3's moral values and suggest incontrovertibly that he demands that his adages be discussed in only the most positive light."

I have no idea whether that is a little too good written review, or if this guy does not get reviews.

But I have no idea why he refers to Mass Effect 3 as a person. I'm pretty sure this guy must have created dozens of these reviews or we are dealing with a new meme, because they are everywhere on the user reviews.

Also this cracked me up:

"Bioware continue to commit Sudoku in this latest release of Gears of Halo: Gay men of space." Not because of that Gears of Halo but the whole commiting Sudoku. Oh, God that is hilarious.

@Tonyyj: I haven't checked out the spoilers myself, so I can't say anything about whether they're true or not. But it is highly unlikely that the guy has even played the game, I would wait so I can find out myself.
