CURRENT VIDEOGAME IMPRESSIONS!
So I've been spending a good amount of time playing those modern pieces of entertainment the kids called videogames, I've been playing a good few to be honest and it's only the last few days that I've found myself getting more dedicated to one or two main titles. Of course all of these games are recent releases and to be honest I have mixed reactions when it comes to one or two of the big named triple A games. That's not to say there bad games, of course not. I'm just finding them hard to be truly entertained by them. So shall we begin by taking a look at some of my current impressions of the videogames currently taking up my gaming time:

VIDEOGAMES!!!!
LITTLEBIGPLANET
If I'm honest, I knew what I was getting with
LittlebigPlanet after spending time with the beta. But that hasn't meant I haven't been any less thrilled by the experience. I have noticed some of LBP's bigger and more frustrating aspects such as the infuriating fact that once you lose all lives you have to start at the beginning of a level and some levels can be quite long. Now this is quite common for platformers and I don't personally mind it when say, having some Sonic videogame fun. But for some reason I find restarting a level in LBP quite frustrating and a general pain in the posterior. Mainly because after the seventh or eight time it becomes a little less fun if you know what I mean and the red mist of anger starts hitting home deep in my chest. Another issue with LBP is actually also one of it's best features, physics. There great but at times they can be a little to realistic. it's hard to explain and if you have or am currently playing it you may know what I speak of. It's those times when the physics can occasionally get in the way of the fun. But it's still a stunning game, and some of the creation levels are simply breathtaking for both creativity and thought. Hopefully will get a review up soon.
FALLOUT 3
I'll admit that I haven't been enjoying
Fallout 3 a great deal, it's had mixed reviews and I can see why. Some will love it while some will hate it and probably hate it with a passion. Again, it's not a bad game it's just a little confussed and simply not fallout. So don't go in expecting that, but you've probably read enough reviews to already know that right? Anyway, folks can deny it but this game very much is Oblivion in a Nuclear affected wasteland with guns along for the ride. Now that might not sound bad, but although Fallout 3 as many of Oblivion's charms it also seems to have even more of it's bugs and problems for us all to suffer over again. Now I was fond of Oblivion, but I can't help but feel that this game doesn't have the heart that the Elder Scrolls series as, not sure if that is down to loyalty and amount of heart or creativity put into the title. But it's lacking and I sometimes feel as if it could have been a simple big Oblivion mod rather then a full priced title. Many of the mechanics work well but either get a old fast or aren't anything we haven't seen before. I don't know, maybe my view of the game will change, but at the moment I'm finding Fallout 3 a bit of a wasteland in more ways then one.
DEAD SPACE(Thanks Sweep)
A bit of a sleeper hit it seems, at least from the many high scoring reviews the game as been getting from the general gaming media. So I was quite eager to get my own itchy fingers on this space horror shooter and to be totally frank with you, it as taken me a good few hours into the game to truly see what the fuss is about. Yes it's a great looking game and the atmosphere is indeed a pleasure to experience. But it's all about the shooting and the evil messed up creatures you run into that makes this game. I personally wouldn't call this a horror title though I can see why some would class it as so, but I haven't found it scary with only one occasion coming to mind when I was honestly shocked but even that was due to a bit of a camera bug as I went looking through the side of a wall. So in a way I wanted to see some more scary moments, but I actually think it's more down to me. I don't find a spaceship that scary because I've never been on one and probably never will (unless I suddenly become a astronaut overnight) while I find more real based location more thrilling and real, such as
F.E.A.R office styled locations. I think that as a lot to do with me not finding it an exactly horror filled title, though there are some great gorey moments and the fantastic shooting mechanics and simply stunning weapons save any issues I have with the game. I'm enjoying it greatly and hopefully expect a review soon.

A lovely family photo.
COMMAND AND CONQUER: RED ALERT 3
The return of
Red Alert, and what a great return it is. A fine example of Command and Conquer done right and after the pretty poor and dull styled
Command and Conquer 3 it's nice to see that Red Alert still as it's colourful creative flow. It's nothing we haven't seen before and you could argue that the RTS genre is currently stuck in a hole but the games fantastic unit creativity is fantastic and some cheesy but brilliantly done acting from some actual actors I have great respect for (not to mention the lovely Gemma Atkinson) rolls together into a solid package of great RTS gameplay. There are some great units but I won't spoil them if you haven't played the game yourself just yet. The game currently as some online issues so haven't been able to check that out, another worthy mention goes to the water. I recall the water in the
Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle Earth 2 being stunning but the water effects in
Red Alert 3 honestly look amazing.
Well that's that for now, I have been playing one or two others and this week I will be getting
Gears of War 2 (which I WILL play multiplayer again, despite the fact that I found it boring as hell when I last tried) and I also have a copy of
Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 coming, now I haven't watched wrestling for four or five years. Yet for some reason I'm still very fond of the Smackdown series since it's beginnings and it's been a good fighting game online of late. Plus what other games can you create a camp looking satan? I won't know who most of the wrestlers are but I'll see about doing a review when I can. Still unsure about
Guitar Hero: World Tour though. But as always have a blast gaming and thanks for any comments, always appriated.
Thanks for Reading and keep on Gaming!
