New Star Wars game to be revealed at the VGA Awards. One can dream of Knights of the Old Republic 3. But it's probably Battlefront 3.

THE BUSY GAMING MONTH OF OCTOBER!

The big release season as begun, it's all rather thrilling and exciting.
The big release season as begun, it's all rather thrilling and exciting.
Important games are being released folks, as I ramble on in this latest blog, the good old Royal Mail should be in the process of preparing a morning delivery of Halo: ODST for me. That's if they don't suddenly all go on strike again, right now that seems like a real possibility. But anyway, I'm not here to talk about the Royal Mail, I'm here to talk about my most beloved passion, videogames. As many of my fellow gamers will know, it's the beginning of busy season and we all know what that means. Yes, empty wallets due to the buying of games. In an odd way, I'm actually kind of grateful for the many 2010 delays we've seen of late, if all those games were to be released these coming months, I might have at to get a loan.

While these delays provide me with mixed emotions, there are still many a wonderful game to be released for us all to waste even more of our spare time playing. October is in itself a big month, with some obvious must buys for any gamer. I'll admit that right now there are only three games in particular that are a day one purchase, though I'm sure I'll probably find myself surprised by a release or two. Those three games are Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Brutal Legend and the simply wonderful FIFA 10. Interestingly enough, both Brutal Legend and Uncharted 2 are released on the very same day (16th of October) and it'll be fascinating to see how both do. With all the love and respect for Tim Schafer's latest creation, I fully expect Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2 to be the leading game of the month. Though one cannot forget EA Sport's FIFA 10 and it's ability to sell insane amounts.

But even with that, I predict that Uncharted 2 will be the game of October. It's still just under a month away from release and already I'm hearing great talk surrounding Nathan Drake's latest adventure. Now I know I've said this before, but I absolutely adored the original Uncharted and it was worth getting a Playstation 3 just for that game. Still I can't deny my excitement for Brutal Legend, the more I see the more it makes me smile. What a Tim Schafer game does best, and while I do have a few concerns about the later stages of the game, that won't exactly stop me from preordering for sure. FIFA on the other hand is FIFA, all I needed was some required time with the gameplay (which came in the form of a pleasant little demo) and I am happy. EA Canada continue to make FIFA the must buy football game of the year and I'm sure it'll do just fine (fine as in, it'll sell ridiculous amounts of copies and make EA even reacher).

For a change I'm keeping this blog entry kind of short, after all Halo 2 won't play itself. That's right, I'm continuing a tradition of mine nowadays. With the release of Halo: ODST, I felt I needed to brush up on my Halo lore so decided to play through the franchise starting with Halo 1 and 2, then playing some ODST and finishing off with what I hope will be me falling in love with Halo 3. Sadly I was not a fan of Halo 3 for many reasons which I won't go into now. Staying on the topic of Halo: ODST, I'm looking for some firefight friends on LIVE and have been adding a few here and there. If your interested then simply add my gamertag which is stated below this paragraph. I shan't lie, I'm not the worlds greatest Halo player but I do like me some FPS fun and am up for some Covenant killing action. That shall do for now, but to end things off I want to know what your must have games of October are?
