Loving the Luchazine...the worst way imaginable.

There's something about media that annoys me when I can only access it via the internet. I need CD's, books, DVD's and Blu-Rays. I need a hard copy of just about everything, not in case I lose a file or because it's more easily accesible but because...I like stuff. I like having stuff.
I don't know whether you noticed this or not but I happen to be involved in GoranP's famed Luchazine project and if you haven't checked it out yet, you should. I'm not just saying that because I'm involved, it's fair to say that my stuff is amongst the weaker articles in the mag. There is some gold in there and I'm enjoying being a part of issue 2 and hopefully future issues. But something's been bugging me: It's a magazine, yet I'm trying to read it in PDF form. For my 'stuff'-oriented mind, this will not do.
Thus began an epic 4 hour (FOUR FUCKING HOURS) printing session this morning. I burned through almost £30 ($44US) worth of ink. I think that makes Issue One of The Luchazine the single most expensive paper product I've ever bought. That costs more than a years subscription to one of the magazines I frequent, and this is one freakin' issue. I'm going to end up doing this every single month, I can see it now.
Goran, I hope you're happy. You're making me a poor man.
Goddammit.

If you have one of those commercial printers lying around (not like the massive printing press kind, but like office/university kind), they use the large paper so to have proper layout and will even professionally glue/staple (your choice) it for you before spitting it out.

FUCK YOU BO, YOU'RE FIRED! GO SUCK ON A BIG FAT TOE!

We have 0 resources to print The Luchazine, it is a community magazine after all (but maybe we can monetize it via MMO!). A nice, proper, print of the mag where I'm at would be around $60-$90 for one copy. At least your copy was cheaper, Bo ;)

Quick, everyone, pay me me $49.99 and I promise* to give you a printed 12 month subscription.

I want pictures of this magazine! No scans though, as that will just make it look like a PDF again.

@ Goran: I don't expect you to print this it. Hell, this blog is me coming to terms with the fact that I have a sick material mind.
Still, a 12 month subscription for $49.99 iiis tempting.

@ Vito_Raliffe & natetodamax: Maybe when I get home I'll look for a camera. No promises

@Bo17:  Did I say $49.99? I meant $499.99. Demand just sky rocketed.

Also, Abhishek and I might print the upcoming issue to send to the GB crew. Maybe.

Do that. Although the thought of the GB crew having a printed copy of something I wrote might be too great for my mind to comprehend.

Also, you should totally do that.

WOW that sure is some nice support from an ex-contributor -ahem-

But yezzir, plenty of research  was done earlier about the whole 'printing' thing.
If this makes you feel better, the PDFs are all press quality, CMYK, 300dpi.

So if there's anybody out there in the print industry, the PDFs are print ready, and our pockets are padded for fat rolls of extra thick dough. ;)

Also, something just clicked in my head.  It took you FOUR hours to print it?! What the hell? You're gonna kill yourself with issue 2.

And just wait 'till you start working on 3 and see what's planned.

The reason it took so long was that I couldn't just hit 'Print all' and leave it. I had to print a page, turn it upside down and turn it around and then print again.
And because my printer is terrible, it kept on fucking up certain prints by moving the paper out of line dramatically, every 5 pages, so i spent forever realligning the paper and reprinting fucked up pages. Once I'd started, I'd started, and I wasn't going to stop =/
