I always thought the Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor was underbaked and rickety in a way that I never understood why anybody else found it impressive.
There's certainly the bones of something quite cool there but the actual feature as it shipped always felt pretty lacklustre and obnoxious in the way it drew attention to itself.

I’m with you kinda across the board. Really sad to see them close down shop but happy for the stuff we got.

On any given day, my favourite could be either RAM or their Tron Legacy OST. Both are fantastic.

Today I started training my dog's recall because it's embarrassing how little he listens to my wife and I.

In all seriousness, though, this seems really cool but my internet speeds leave a lot to be desired so I'll probably check this out again next year when I move somewhere without garbage internet!

So, generally, I try to do my level best to avoid situations where that can happen again. I feel like that applies to all three of these scenarios.

One of the things I think has been lost in the fetishisation of Joel that we’ve witnessed from a lot of people is that Joel probably wouldn’t have reacted to Ellie’s death the same way that she reacted to his. He’d likely grieve, learn his lessons and move on. As heinous as his actions often were I can’t think of any act of violence he conducted from a place of rage, it was all about survival.

That he would have acted differently is not a knock on this game. If anything it’s exciting that the writing reflects these characters so much and you did a great job of explaining an interpretation of Ellie’s actions, mindset and growth that I think is pretty spot on.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I think I prefer this story to the first game.

The awkward thing is, I don’t know if that’s solely based on the merits of the story or because the people speaking out against the story with such vitriol are making such poor arguments that they’re actually pushing me more in favour of the game.

I probably won’t know for a few months when everyone starts to calm down a little but right now? Yeah, I super dig it.

I wish more massive mainstream stuff was as divisive as this.

I think it’s a shame that some people resort to expressing their dislike or appreciation with toxicity but when two vast swathes of audience have very different opinions on something, that’s where the best conversations happen and we all learn a little bit more about both our own tastes and how they line up with others’ tastes.

Horizon Zero Dawn was real good.

Also, if you try Yakuza 0 and like it, there’s like another 7 games you’ll probably enjoy.

I really dig Ratchet and Clank ‘16.
