TurboMan's Playstation Home Adventures / Episode 1

A bit of disclosure: I don't have screencapping softwares on my TV/Mac, so there are pictures that I took with my iPhone. Get Over It.

TurboMan's Playstation Home Adventures

I have a confession to make. Throughout the first two years that the Playstation Home's service has been available, I have not stepped foot in it until today. Let me tell you, this place is the weirdest place ever. No one talks to you unless your dressed up as a 12 year old girl. Most people are just idle avatars, standing in a virtual environment for all eternity. Worst of all, there is no headset support, just virtual keyboard support, which makes it impossible to even care about having a real conversation. So I take this chance to create virtual me, and dive into this weird world known as Playstation Home.

This week had something that sounds exciting on paper. Remember that scene from the first Star Wars movie in that bar, and Han Solo shot that dude? That was faithfully recreated for the Playstation Home users. The place has no games, or interactive features other than watching a trailer for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and a LucasArts store. It was kind of cool that they put the band in there with all of the songs, but about two minutes later, it was time to leave the area and call it a day. Enjoy my photoblog journey.

 "No Droids Allowed" is on the sign. As long as it doesn't say "No Shoes, No Service", I should be allowed in. Where's Obi at?

After ten minutes of asking this guy to get me a drink, I filed a complaint letter to Sony and told them about their horrible bartender services at the Cantina.

So, that's about it... an environment that might fill up about six minutes of your free time(after two minutes of installing). Hopefully, Home has more to offer for my future adventures.

Wow your avatar looks exactly like mine, except mine has a pink afro and no moustache and I think mine might be shorter and fatter. All the people with buff jocks and slim girls as avatars called me ugly and told me to go away when I got up in their faces and did the Running Man or Salsa.

I went to Home when it first came out and a few times afterward with hopes of it becoming better.  My last visit was before Uncharted 2 was out because I visited the Uncharted zone which was new at the time.  If Home is as you say it is today, then it hasn't changed significantly since launch.  Sony apparently makes money off the thing still, but I have no idea why anyone would go there.  I wouldn't label it "creepy" but it was odd to see so many Chun Li's running around during my last visit.

I'm pretty sure there is headset support. Either way, I don't really care about Home.

@TurboMan:
I agree, it's pretty good.  Now you just need to creepily hit on anyone with a girl character, and ask them if they have a younger sister.  Much younger.

You'd be just like everyone else in Home.

This is my adventure, me and my friend went to my place, rearranged all the furniture on top of each other, went outside and started dancing at some people, the end.
