There was a bit of controversy over a trophy in GoW:A but other than that I'm willing to be it sold relatively lower numbers because it was just another God of War game and we really didn't need one.
Demon's Souls operates with a hub world and then there are 5 different levels to go to, each with at least 3 levels, some with more (so think of it like 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, etc.). To a certain point those levels can be tackled in basically any order. It might be easier to tackle Demon's Souls from that regard. Haven't played Dark Souls so I couldn't tell you how that all works out.
Thanks a ton for posting this Patrick. Seriously. Nearly everything in the game was reminiscent of something that had happened to me. The "good" choices being crossed out especially was very powerful. You know those are the "right" answers but for whatever reason, you can't pick them. Anyways, it hits very close to home and I'm real glad you posted this so I could check it out. Thanks again.
Video problems are the biggest problem for me. I think the forums/comments stuff is done super well and I generally like the whole look of the site. Just the slow/choppy videos bug me.
There are a bunch of SNES games I've never played, simply because I had a Genesis as a kid and never got the chance to play them. Biggest ones would probably be Earthbound and any number of Super Mario games.
Mass Effect 2. Has very little to do with the gameplay and so much more to do with the characters and world and atmosphere and all that peripheral stuff. ME1 absolutely nailed the atmosphere, music, art direction and world. It was one of the most enrapturing games I had played. And ME2 just never felt the same. I could never take the Collectors as seriously as I took Sovereign, I never liked the music as much and the "vibe" it had always felt off to me. And I really didn't like the streamlined take on stats that ME2 had. ME1's piecemeal stat boosts was not for everyone, and the inventory UI was dogshit, but I always felt like I was progressing, which is something I never really felt in ME2.
This is huh, wow. I expect some sort of day 1 patch in most games but most of these seem like pretty major things. Specifically the things where you could fail missions because of NPC's loading weird. Seems... shaky at best.
