None. It's twelve items or fewer. Those lines are there to get people that only have a few items through as quickly as possible. Having more than just those handful of items defeats the purpose, and it stops being "express checkout". If you have to debate with yourself on whether you have too many items, then you have too many items. You should be able to get through in less than a minute, i.e. all items scanned, payed for, and you are out the door.

As far as I'm concerned, self checkout should be the same way. It may not always say it, but it should be treated the same way. Why? Because people are stupid. Everyone says how easy a cashier's job is, and yet, they are too stupid to use the self checkout and will roll up a cart full of stuff and take literally 5 times longer to check it out. People are such douchebags these days that I wonder if the simplest form of common courtesy ever existed at all.

Also, I don't think that coupons should be allowed in these two lines either. You're there for the convenience of getting in, getting your shit, and getting out, and not to save a few measly pennies on the few items you have IF you only have a few items that is. Inevitably, someone will go to a self checkout line with 50 items in their cart and stack of coupons that don't work, and they, of course, bitch and complain at the attendant and waste everyone's time who may only have a few items and could have all been through in less time than this one person.

Bottom line: If you can count to twelve, then you can count to "less than twelve". Don't be a douche.

I agree completely. I was so excited when I heard a new God of War was coming to the PS4, and then my heart sank when I saw that it was just another Dark Souls clone with the God of War name attached to it. This is a disgraceful bastardization of God of War. We don't need another god damn Dark Souls clone. They're so shamelessly, and obviously, attempting to cash in on the Dark Souls hysteria that's been building over the past several years, and they're simply attaching the God of War name to it to help sell more copies.

Also, to all the people saying that God of War needed to change, I'll admit that there are some games that have drastically changed their formula for the better. Resident Evil 4 is the best example of this. However, RE4 wasn't copying the most popular fad at the time. This is definitely, and blatantly, doing just that. I'll leave you with this. If the next Dark Souls game played like the old God of War games, people would flip their collective shit and be calling for blood.

Resident Evil 5 - No contest on this one. Resident Evil 4 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I say that without the slightest exaggeration. I've played through well over 50 times to this day, and at the time, it was around 40. And that's not just continued games on NG+ where I just breeze through with super weapons (which was fun sometimes). I had several save files of both normal and pro mode where I restarted just because it was so fun. I had also played through the Ada missions multiple times on each version they were available on. So, when I say that I love this game, know that I'm not exaggerating in the slightest.

That having been said, when I heard that RE5 was coming out, I was hyped as hell for it. I thought that it was going to be RE4 on steroids, which I guess was partially right. Seriously, Chris, lay off the damn roids, lulz. I was wrong, however, and it was like two trains made of shit collided and created a shit train wreck that was literally shit.

As you probably guessed, the main problem I had with the game was the shitty AI companion, Sheva. Sure, Ashley was in the first one, but after a very short period of acclimating to her presence, it wasn't a problem. Sheva, on the other hand, is useless. Ashley was too, but the game never implied that she was supposed to be useful, so you never expected it. However, Sheva is supposed to be another gun to shoot zombies, whereas all she ever seemed to do was waste my damn ammo. After I tried a few times to play the game with the AI and nearly having an aneurysm doing it, I played through the game with a friend. It was still terrible. The locations didn't do anything for me. The enemy design was bad, well, more irritating actually. The inventory system while playing was insanely terrible. And the story may have been good, but I was so busy being pissed off that I stopped caring. The only positive thing about the game that actually outdid RE4 was how there were a ton more guns and a place to store them. Even though it was a great feature, it was still bittersweet, because I hated everything else about the game so much that I never had the desire to play through the game again to try out different guns. I wish they would patch those guns and the bank into RE4. I know it won't happen, but that would be amazing.

It seems like every time I play RE4, I always think to myself how awesome it would be if there was a sequel for it. Then, it hits me that it does exist, and they did, in fact, fuck it up, and it is, in fact, shit.

If you didn't know, seasons came to consoles starting on March 31 on season 10. A seasonal character is started completely from scratch and is almost like you just bought the game and started it for the first time. Even gold is reset to zero on a seasonal character. You do keep pets (they pick up gold for you) and some aesthetic items but nothing that impacts gameplay in any significant way. There are different objectives to complete along with different rewards for completing them. The most significant are a guaranteed 6 piece set specific to your class and more stash space (at least for PC, I don't think consoles get any more stash space, which is a bummer).

I've played this game a ton on console and have one of each of the 7 classes and a viable build for each, so I was looking to dive back in and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I'm rather enjoying it, and I like going through the list and checking off the boxes as I progress.

Anyone else playing the season for the first time on console? If so, how are you liking it?

I think $500 is the highest they will be able to comfortably get away with. Like many have said, it was always supposed to be a "premium" product and Microsoft never said any different, so $500 seems reasonable. The Xbox One S is already at a lower price point for those that still want to play Xbox games but don't need the extra features, like 4K, for example, or still want to play but are on a tighter budget.

If they do go any higher than that, they risk doing what Sony did with the PS3, and if memory serves, that didn't work out so well.

Earth Defense Force is one of my favorite series; it's just fun to spec the weapons you suspect will let you rip through a level and then just hammer away on the trigger for 10 minutes while crazy crap is going on all around you. Musou games are much the same in terms of the kind of fun you can have if you just jump in.

I love to play licensed games because occasionally punch way above their weight (but you can often expect a good 5-7/10 experience regardless). Rango the Video Game gets real weird and is kind of incredible. Terminator Salvation was an entirely decent 3rd person shooter in which you shoot Terminators.

It's funny you should mention Earth Defense Force, because I just recently bought EDF 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair out of curiosity and just wanting something different. I can't believe how addicting it is. It's one of those, "just one more mission", types of games for me. I get why it's not super popular. It's stupid as hell but in all the best, over the top ways possible. I'm really digging it so far.

I guess this is more in the "unpopular" camp rather than "outright bad" but I fucking love the kingdom hearts games.

The story across the series is totally batshit and makes no god damn sense but that is part of the reason why I love it. Can't wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 coming out in 2026

In what universe is Kingdom Hearts unpopular? I constantly hear how people can't wait for KH3.

The Way of the Samurai series. They're clunky as hell and they look terrible, but they're just so odd and unique that I can't help but love them.

Also, Final Fantasy XIII is my third favorite Final Fantasy game, after XII and X. But that's not a high watermark for me, because I think Square's best games aren't Final Fantasy games.

As for what I like about XIII, I like the characters for the most part, and I like that the main character is outright mean spirited at times, which I don't see very often in other games. And the thing that everyone seemed to hate, the rigid linearity, was actually a plus for me. I like games that put me on a straightforward path with interesting things to look at along the way. It's the same reason I enjoyed Bioshock Infinite so much. The game actually started to lose steam for me when you get to the second planet and it switches to an open world format. I had to force myself to finish it at that point, which is why it's my third favorite of the Final Fantasy games I've played.

It's always good to hear some love for Final Fantasy XIII. I, too, loved that game. The linearity was one of the best things about it early on. It gave the game a sense of focus, with a clear goal, and was constantly dishing out story in regular intervals with combat in between. The focus this game had on story and combat is something a lot of RPGs are missing. Usually, it just puts you in an open world, and it goes something like, "Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be saving the world, but first, I'd better find this random person's lost magic tomato, instead of, you know, saving the WHOLE FUCKING WORLD." This also makes the story a pain to follow and difficult to get invested in. I also loved the combat in FFXIII. It did a few hours to pick up steam, but once it does it is so damn great. And some of the end fights, like the mission bosses, are intense as fuck requiring a ton of planning and strategy.

Just curious here, but why did everybody like that fist fight ending? For me, and even all of my friends, it was one of the most mind numbing loads of tedious and unnecessary bullcrap I've ever played. And just to be clear, I like the game. I've played through it many times on all difficulties except the last one. I even did a "shoot everything because fuck stealth" run and just killed everybody and got through the game in less than two hours, skipping cutscenes of course. So it's not like I hate the game, but that last part though. It seemed like every playthrough of the game was mildly ruined by having to muddle through that last fight.
