It was alright and I love the Dan + Vinny energy a lot but... even more old 2d platformers huh. I miss the Life Is Strange, Kerbal, Contradiction etc glory days. Open ended/open world or story focused games with choice is where Vinny shines but almost all they do outside of Play Date has been old straightforward 2D platformers for the last x months, with Vinnyvania, Bluebombing, now this. Though I suppose this series could be open to more than old 2D platformers but it seems geared toward that.
Just hope there will be a series with a more modern/open ended game soon where Vinny can really be Vinny instead of just you know, them running forward, jumping and shooting in 2D for the dozenth time which doesn't exactly inspire the creativity and lunacy that Gbeast is best at. But just my opinion as one customer among many, don't get mad at me. I guess I just don't have the same nostalgia appreciation that others here do.
Remember for all that modern stuff, it's probably a lot more difficult/risky if someone wanted to give them a takedown notice. With something like Contradiction, it doesn't surprise me that didn't happen, those guys were likely THRILLED for the free publicity, but I'm shocked they got away with a full playthrough of something like Life is Strange the year it came out.
I still love Stardew Valley, was kind of surprised Dan hadn't gotten super far in the actual "life progression" of the game, especially since he was the reason I picked it up. Great stream though, looking forward to Giant Bomb in 2017!
I guess it depends how much stuff you look up. Like, I wonder if Dan even realizes that talking to everyone each day gives you a bit of rep with them, and it isn't just from gifts? He seems to have a lot of people that he has zero hearts with.
Also, if you use a guide to just look up what people super like, you can really get some crazy rep on birthdays and the events (like the luau), but if you do it naturally and just guess your way through the game it's going to take longer to progress townsfolk relationships.
IS that a thing? The talking to people to get a bit of rep? Cause I know that's how it works in Harvest Moon, and I assumed it did in this too, but I haven't really SEEN that play out... (I know this is the internet, so I feel the need to clarify: not a callout or shit-talk, I ACTUALLY don't know).
