@gouldgonewild: I've been enjoying a Hard with Nothing to Start run so far. It feels like it's probably taking twice as long to progress because I am grinding a lot more, but I think I'm enjoying the nostalgic feeling of always just barely being high enough level. I feel like most RPGs these days let you overlevel very quickly and then it's all simple from that point on. But that could change. After twenty hours I might start to curse this difficulty level.

Much as I know it's a better experience on mac or PC it's such a great lazy on-couch low commitment game! I was skeptical about why they would put it on 360 but it surprisingly fits

I think if you try to make a list of movies and tv shows with Great endings you will quickly realize the truth of how hard it is to do it right. I would give Great ending status to Six Feet Under and Buffy but not a lot else. And even those weren't Great endings for lots of fans.

I think this will be good in the long run (it removes the fear that suddenly the good time will end because they were too small to make it...). Although I think the thing I will miss the most is them being in the same room as all the other Whiskey sites and just seeing the random walk-bys and shenanigans. But I second the "optimistically hopeful" response.

I lost Kelly and the crew in ME2 because i took too longer to rescue them. I really liked Kelly, and so when I saw her name on the memorial wall in the Normandy in ME3, I was a little choked up. Consequences to tie us to these things!

I love the AC series for choosing time periods that are largely overlooked by games. This is excellent! And it makes sense as AC:R starts to allude to New England being a key location in the mythos.

Shadow of the Colossus had cutscenes, but the most powerful part of it's storytelling was the gameplay itself. The juxtaposition of riding the empty land on your horse, and then encountering and attacking the massive colossi. And the battles themselves were excellent at giving you a feeling of helplessness as you were tossed about by the giants, but you had to keep squeezing the trigger to try and hold on with all you had. I feel like I got a lot more out of that story than if i'd just watched the whole thing in a movie.

If you find you tend to like related artists, try poking around Allmusic.com. They have a write up on artists and then link them to artists they were influenced by or influenced and you can easily stumble across new bands that are pretty cool. Oh, and if you have a smartphone--one of those apps like Shazaam that can 'listen' to a song playing and tell you what it is is great! That way if you're out and you hear cool music playing in a bar or store, you can find what it is and start looking into them.
