Peter Molyneux tends to be a real hyperbolic guy, which is also why he's so great! It's infectious when he talks about how his games's got trees growing in real time, or how his game's not on rails, but I don't take all that as "This dude's trying to sell his game" but as "This guy's really passionate and really cares about video games." This all also works against him when he's talking bad about Curiosity or himself because, guess what, the dude likes to talk everything up, so a scratch becomes a wound and so on and so forth. You can chalk all of this up to bullshitting for his own gain, but I like to think that the man who was prototyping Populous with Lego and board games is passionate about his work, even today.

@JoelTGM: @Canteu: Oh shit, right. Well now this is even more inexplicable. I pretty apparently know next to nothing about running CoD, but this still seems endlessly shitty on their part.

Wait, what? Are CoD servers disgustingly expensive to run or something? I don't see why they can't just keep the servers going without the double XP. This is laaaaaaaaame.

It's no Metal Gear alert sound, but...

If it makes you feel any better, I lost an ironman classic game that was about 6 hours in because the game suddenly listed all of my men as "on mission", yet when I'd launch a mission only two would ever show up.... Good thing yours doesn't sound like a glitch though. That dismiss button can be a jerk.

Oh man, you're the first person I've heard have this glitch other than me. Were the two who showed up the only survivors from the previous mission by any chance? The only people I could select were the 6 from the previous mission. Everyone else was stuck in "on mission" status, and I had to dismiss them since I was playing with ironman turned on. Luckily I was able to bounce back.

Nah, my last mission went off without a hitch, but then I got a UFO landing and suddenly the squad loadout screen was glitched with random soldiers in random places and it saying I only had 2 on there even though I could see six (which was weird because I could still only have squads of 5). Then I started the mission and only the two came along and from there I couldn't use any of my soldiers on any missions because they were all listed as "on mission." Nice to see you fixed yours at a price though.
