To my knowledge, Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo don't have much philosophy behind them. "
I think so. They don't have very much of an overarching storyline but Cowboy Bebop tackles things like God, the importance of one's past and reasons for living. Same with Samurai Champloo, yes there are some episode that are just balls out crazy, but there are some messages in there. Things like the episode where Jin meets the geisha or the 2 episode string where Mugen meets that girl from his past, itmight not be very philosophical, but man that ending was POETIC.

Death Note is great until a major character is killed
Everyone says that! I personally was relieved when  "that character" died . I mean I really enjoyed the battle of wits but somebody had to come out on top and I'm glad about who it was.

@shinluis:  Yah! Once I caught onto that I did my best to spend as many souls as possible before doing a boss battle.

Also I totally get what the OP is saying. Making death have more meaning in game would be great. The lives system worked well in the past but I think that would be a little to harsh in this day.

Game developers really need to find some new and innovative ways to encourage you to stay alive, because death in games has kinda lost all meaning. All it is now is a 30 second stumbling block.

Ok, I'm not sure if this resets every new play-through but, on the Silver Strip there is a peepshow place called the Peep Hole, it has 3 doors for 3 different peep shows (you don't actually get to see anything) each peep show cost $1 000 and get you 1 000 PP and after you do all 3 you get a bonus 10 000PP.

Dead Rising 2 (If you like Dead Rising), Castlevania looks good, Vanquish could also be very good. I'm also going to try Fable III, I wasn't super amazed with II but Fable has been a pretty good franchise. GT5 and Assassin's Creed are still a toss up for me.

As for games I'll skip. All the FPS, Halo, Medal of Honor, Black Ops. Halo I've been done with for a while, I don't like the way it handles. As for Black Ops and Medal of Honor, they just seem like the same multiplayer focused FPS that come out every year.

Dead Rising has a very particular feel to it. It's kind of like Demon's Soul's. You either love it or you hate it, no real in-between.

EDIT: Red Dead Redemption was a bit disappointing. It wasn't bad, just wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be.

Hey so I've read a couple of reviews on DR2 and some say that only the host keeps the PP in Co-op and others say that both people get to keep their PP. So which is it? Thanks.
