Thanks! Just looked at steam and the GOTY edition is $9.99, I'm losing money if I don't purchase it at that price!

Good Evening!

I'm your typical adult gamer with more money than time and because of this never played Batman: Arkham Asylum. I watched the Arkham City Quicklook and am sold on playing it, but I'm curious if I'm doing myself a disservice by not playing Aslyum first?

Would love any suggestions you can give, and what console should I get it for? (I have the three major platforms). Also does anyone know if playing Arkham Aslyum gives you any benefit in Arkham City?

Thanks Giantbomb Community.

I would have to say my game of show (as in game that impressed me the most ) of all of PAX Prime would be Torchlight 2. I played the original Torchlight, not hardcore by any means, but I was absolutely blown away by how great Torchlight 2 played and looked. The classes, skill trees, randomized dungeons, multiplayer and new furry companions were all significant iterations on the first Torchlight I could hardly believe the game I was playing has been hardly mentioned on the site or Bombcast.

So my question for you guys, what game did you love at PAX Prime that has been getting no love on Giantbomb?

@TheHT: Dude! I see that comment every now and then and it scares the shit out of me! I'm thinking "So it's really true! FUCK!"... and then I understand that it isn't. EDIT: Oh, and what is the Variety Hour? Is it a Giant Bomb thing or a general PAX thing where developers talk about stuff?

Variety Hour was the Giantbomb specific talk at PAX.

Actually, thinking back on the Variety Hour, it wasn't that great. Paul Barnet and a lady acquaintance got on stage and shilled the free Warhammer game for far too long. Pandered like crazy, Paul did his typical "fans are so great speech" that he does at every Warhammer related event, and then they started picking fights with Jonnny V.

There were times of painfully awkward silence when she was talking about Warhammer. Even Paul was too annoyed/busy to listen to her. I couldn't even tell if Jeff was fake irritated with said female or playfully irritated with said female... yeah I still think it was disappointing when calculating that guest appearance into it.

I'm gonna guess the "lady acquaintance" was Carrie Gouskos, being that she works with Paul at Mythic. Jeff and Carrie are very good friends. She used to work at GameSpot.

Twas me. To the OP. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it or thought we were shilling. The intent was to do the quick spiel, self-deprecate, and tell stories. I respect GB tremendously and appreciate being able to hang and have a laugh with the guys I love. Next time I'm sure they'll get you more Johnny V.

I appreciate the comment :). I think it honestly would have felt fine had the Giantbomb crew had the fully allotted amount of time. I just didn't care to hear about Warhammer in the slightest during the Giantbomb Variety hour, and that was exacerbated with the limited amount of time they had.

No idea what you're talking about, i loved the panel and it was a great way to start my very first PAX. I just assumed the waiting to start was something that every panel had to do, i barely noticed it.

Fourth year PAX attendent here. Had you been at last years GB panel (and Gameworks after party) you probably would've felt differently about this one. I am glad that fresh eyes on the situation didn't feel disappointed though, I'm probably just being my crotchety old self.

Haha true, new Endurance run will be sweet. I'm guessing Catherine, but I'm hoping Persona 4.

Show was great. Vinny was on fire. Just wished we could get some Jon Vignocchi in there.

Started 15 minutes late, and ended 30 minutes early =(. Left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, (presenters included) so thought I'd make a post about it. I know I personally was in line for ~2 hours and wasn't anywhere near the front, so hopefully those before me don't feel as disappointed with the Variety Hour as I do. Just not the best way to end the night waiting more time for an event, than the event itself lasted (according to the schedule). I know that's par for the course at PAX, but still a bummer to have it happen with GB, especially when it's too late to get into any other events (such as concerts) because of timing.

TLDR: Airing grievances! Carry on.

I went from everyday contact in hs and college, always having fsniky and a roommate to moving to Seattle after college 400+ miles from everyone I knew for a job. I consider it the time I found out who I was, and not the person who had to be mindful around other people. My best suggestion is give yourself a goal. I told myself I'm going to do a Marathon in my first year of moving. So I ran in different places, learned a new city, met knew people and bad obligations to nothing but to the goals I gave myself. Also started a dnd group for a weekly+ social outlet. It is an incredibly freeing and scary experience not having anyone to act off of or motivate you besides you. But you should take joy in being able to develop as a person independly of any one else in your life.

Xenogears  - I was looking for a mech-game and saw the crazy cover art and had to go for it. Still my most nostalgic and most loved old console game.
