I'm no fan of Cliff, but you guys are definitely wrong about him informing the staff by tweet. This makes it clear:

That's in response to someone asking is he learnt that Boss Key was shutting down from a meeting or tweet.

It's obviously not going to happen, but I really feel like they should be giving refunds to anyone that dropped money on Radical Heights in the barely more than a month it was around. It felt pretty gross that they had income streams in a game that was so unfinished anyway, but if people bought in it was with the assumption that development would continue.

Get a cat, a dog for starters. It wont solve your crisis of identity, but it may give you a soft purpose. Something to grow, nurture and wake up for.

And if your depression is such that you don't think you'd be able to appropriately look after an animal? I've been thinking about getting a cat lately, but when my anxiety keeps me awake at night, and my depression can lead to extremely long sleeps, it doesn't seem fair to the animal at that point. I can and do sleep for over a day at a time in some cases, the animal needs feeding and my housemate isn't always here.

I think you have an extremely single minded view of depression. It's fantastic that your particular case was treatable. I've been on every anti-depressant under the sun, and consistently engaged in therapy for years with only minor improvement. I've tried to kill myself multiple times because it feels like the only way to be done with these conditions.

This guy knows depression. Hope you're doing well at the moment, man.

Don't know if this change is because of me, but thank you all the same devs! It looks much cleaner. :)

Pretty minor complaint, but using Chrome and the dark theme (the proper theme) the dropdown there in the search looks quite ugly (that is, the white around the dropdown). My suggestion would be for the dropdown to be white no matter the theme, as it looks fine then.

@ka385385:Hm.. My notification thing didn't light up so I didn't realise you replied to me. Sorry about that.

So, I kind of agree with you about the growing size of game development teams and such (despite my earlier comment that they should just hire more people). With regards to feeling like you're a drop in the bucket and mean nothing to the company... Yeah, that's EVERY corporate job everywhere isn't it? Unless you're one of the top level executives, you mean zero to the corporation. It's rather sad that game development is like that now, but that's just how it is. The only way for a Ubisoft/EA/Activision employee to make something they are connected to is to quit their job, get another job in a non-game industry where they wont be expected to crunch like mad, and develop an indie game in their spare time. It's not great, but it's basically the only option.

I have no problem with the re-releasing of Skyrim and such except for the fact that they put such minimal effort into it. If you have never played Skyrim before and go buy it on Switch, it's still got some gross game breaking bugs in it that I find unacceptable for a game that's generated that kind of money. If you must re-release it, please put some effort into it for gods sake, or you look very greedy and (again in my opinion) show little respect for the players.

I’ve never given a shit about their bugs or jank. Not even close to a shit. Just... really irrelevant to me.

I've actually had pretty good experiences myself playing Oblivion, Skyrim and FO3 with only the most minor of bugs. I always remember the state Skyrim was in on PS3 though. I feel like they shouldn't have put that game out in that state. Giant Bomb had to mark their GOTY for it with "Yo not the PS3 version!"

I have to ask, because I truly don't understand... Why does it matter to you if some people don't like the game as much? This goes to the people who lament Jeff's attitude towards Yoshi's Island or Majora's Mask, too. Obviously in those cases I think he's being hyperbolic for comedic effect, but even if he wasn't what does it matter? Jeff couldn't stand Red Dead Redemption, that doesn't make me like the game any less, and there are probably examples I could find for every staff member on the site.

As for Bethesda, I think their sales numbers open them up to a lot more criticism than other examples. The amount of money they have made from the Elder Scrolls games and now Fallout is stupendous. They keep re-releasing Skyrim at what must be comparatively little cost and the game still has huge goddamn bugs. They have the money to hire more people, whether that's QA or developers. Using the argument that more people are harder to manage is a fault of management and nothing more. Look at the credits of any Assassin's Creed game, you'll see a thousand names that somehow worked together. The argument of a small team also doesn't hold up, because you can look at what CD Projekt RED can do with the Witcher 3 (though that's excusing potential other issues with the work place conditions there). Witcher 3 looks staggeringly better and is a lot less buggy than ANY game Bethesda Game Studio have put out since at least Morrowind.

Bethesda got a free ride for way too long, to be honest. People glossed over bugs in their games because the rest was so impressive, but that loses it's lustre over time. You can't be as impressed with Skyrim if you've already played Oblivion, it's just the same thing slightly refined. And somehow still broken. I think it's frankly gross that they keep re-releasing Skyrim without putting the proper effort into cleaning that game up. In my opinion, that shows so little respect for the people that buy their games, it boggles my mind that someone might stand up for them like you do.
