I would watch it, but like others have stated, I'm not paying for CBS streaming services. I understand why they do it, but considering that I have Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon that I either pay for or chip in money for, I think I have enough other things that I can watch without having to throw money into that toilet as well...such as the other Star Trek shows. Speaking of which...(pulls up Netflix)

This is basically Diablo 3, but a FPS sci-fi game that also behaves like an MMORPG. A handful of people are going to care about the story, but the bulk of the people are here for 1) Sick loot. 2) Raids and dungeons. And 3) PVP. Not necessarily all 3, but some combination of those three.

Just to go a lair deeper, the three classes (now more than ever) sort of ring of the "holy trinity" of class design that seems to exist in a lot of mmo-ish games now.

Titan is akin to a tank. I mean, sure there aren't any tradition aggro mechanics that I'm aware of, but Titans start off with Sentinel that gets a shield and can put up walls and barriers to mitigate damage.

Hunter is dps and I don't really think I need to talk about how that makes sense.

And Warlock is akin to Support/Healer as they put down rifts that can heal and empower your allies and have a few things that aid allies in various ways. Again, as with the Titan, it isn't all that traditional since you aren't watching health bars and spending the whole dungeon healing the tank (not to mention that you can whoop some ass as well) but the ground work is there, with the addition of Rifts that Warlocks create now.

The point is, if you are here for a grimdark battle for humanity's survival....you maaaaaayyyyyy have come to the wrong place.

@whitestripes09: @theblue: I only real problem I have with the whole fusing Arsene part is that, yeah, he is registered in the compendium, but he is registered at lvl 1 and I think I had him at lvl 2 or 3 by the time that part rolled around...so I wasn't super thrilled about that. Not to mention that I couldn't afford to pull him out either.

I just finished the first dungeon and boy, that game stylish as hell.

My one complaint is that I have to persuade monsters into joining me. It has been something that has been in other Shin Megami Tensei games that I haven't ever really cared for that much. This is probably my favorite way of dealing with it and I still don't care for it that much, but it is in no way enough of an issue to get me to stop playing. Just a preference thing (shrug)

I will say that the game handles dungeons differently than in 3 or 4. The dungeons themselves aren't randomly generated like in P3 or P4 and they feel a lot bigger, but the game gives you ways of getting around so that you don't have to redo sections of the dungeon over and over again unless you want to. Also, be warned that you can't go back into a dungeon after you beat it, so make sure you thoroughly search them before you take on the boss.

Also, I wouldn't really worry about the deadlines so much. The game will practically nag you about it via characters going "hey, we going to the dungeon or what?" so it seems like it won't give you the chance forget. That being said, DO NOT wait till the last day to explore the dungeon. I won't say why cause that is a spoiler, but given the way the game handles some things, I think you'd get a game over if you don't finish exploring the dungeon before the last day.

@mandude: I wasn't suggesting enlistment either. I was more talking about how they probably think they are badass dudes because they haven't, as far as we know, really come up against a challenge that they weren't able to deal with. That tends to make people cocky.

I can't imagine that is what the Reavers would be thinking unless failure is worse for them than potentially being killed by a child.

Can someone explain to me why it is worth being upset about stuff not carrying over? I mean I get the whole "we worked really hard for the rare/legendary weapons etc etc" argument and I'm not trying to diminish that since you are able to do something that I don't have the people or patience to do.

I guess my point of contention is more: Loot based games like Diablo never let you carry stuff over. You have to start brand new characters and grind through content to get all the good loot. In fact, most rpg-esque games rarely let you carry stuff over into the sequel game. And before someone says "this is different because it is more of an MMO", I will counter with neither Final Fantasy nor Guild Wars allowed players to carry over things, as far as I know, when they made the jump to a sequel MMO.

Was there a promise that you would get to carry stuff over and they backed out on that promise?

I promise that I'm not trying to be a shit. I just don't understand.
