Molyneux speaks so highly of the intuitive nature of his game interfaces, and the fact is, the virtualized aspects of what he considers "menus" and "inventory" or "tech tree" do have artistic merit.  But what he consistently overlooks is the efficiency in how most gamers want to accomplish tasks.  There is a huge disconnect between how he perceives intuitiveness and how gamers actually approach gameplay.  The menial, pedestrian actions don't need to be dressed up, Peter.  I'd trade in a rarely-used expression for list-based menus with customizable shortcuts for starters.

I had issues with lag/framerate when holding hands with certain villagers.  If I went on a date or escort quest I would experience (at times) not being able to sprint.  I actually quit out of some quests to return later because it would have taken forever to tiptoe across a particular town.  I also had the slowdown issues during running, and my guess is it is related to villagers/monster pop-in.

@Afroman269: If the yearlong countdown actually felt like a yearlong experience, I would have been happier.  I'm pissed off because I feel like the abrupt jump to the endgame was an artificial way to make your decisions up to that point more significant.  There's no sense in how your royal decision days are spaced at all.  Lionhead needs to understand the difference between "impending" and "instantaneous."  I don't know if I feel like heading back to this world, but I'll hang on to the game for awhile to see what the DLC manages to address.

I agree.  I just got to the "no return" point, and I wish I looked up the topic on the forums.  But I'm in purgatory right now--meaning, I haven't yet gone through the portal back from Road to Rule, and I'm wondering if I can continue to accumulate money and deposit to the treasury through Sanctuary... I managed to make one deposit already.  The real estate revenue gets me almost 80K per "turn" and I'm about $2M short of the goal.  Who knows?  Maybe I can game it just enough to get the good ending.

The part that ticks me off is how few quests I was offered up to the end game--I guess I assumed there would be more to do.  My guess, however, is that any DLC that comes out for Fable 3 will likely have the ending "fixed" much like Fallout 3 did.  Fable 2's DLC allowed you to erase the significance of any/all of your game decisions, so why wouldn't that be the case for Fable 3 as well?

Update: It was possible to hang out in the Road to Ruin before going through the portal (that starts the endgame sequence) earning real estate money.  I was able to add to the treasury from Sanctuary, and thus avoided any of the bad endings.  Yes, it took a long time.  And yes, it wasn't fun.

@Belonpopo:  I'll stop playing Burnout: Paradise after awhile, so I don't feel I need every bit of dlc.  GB has kept me entertained for hours every week for the past two years, so yeah, I'll pony up and show support.

@MaddProdigy:   I think that over 7 hours you're bound to run thin on just about everything, but I don't disagree that the segments dragged a bit.  I think, though, that the whole point of this show was to show off the full battery of WhiskeyMedia content (obviously to boost multipass subscriptions) because the GB buy-in was already going to be there.

We're talking about a post-apocalypse environment.  I don't imagine a lot of greenery growing in midtown-destroyed D.C., do you?  As for the frame rates, I'm not sure.  I couldn't  really determine if the slowdown was gameplay-related (going in and out of VATS animations) or if it was holistic.  The last few months of development are spent pulling that stuff together, though, so I wouldn't worry.

Besides, as long as we're talking framerate, we all know there is going to be a difference between the console and PC versions.  Optimizing for the 360 will won't ever look as good as a robust PC.  So if getting the PC version is an option, then I'd go for that one.

I think people who are disappointed that Bethesda is not making some sort of turn-based isometric RPG should avoid the upcoming sequel and go back to running Win95 on their Pentiums to enjoy the good ol' Interplay days.

They are either going to nail the swing mechanic, or make it difficult to use.  Previews indicate that they've got that part figured out, and the environment (a recently destroyed city) has a lot to swing from/attach to.  I'm sure there will be other environments, but the screens I've seen seem pretty good.

I care more about Rearmed, though, I'm not going to lie.

Expect to see a lot of back and forth announcements between the RB2 and GH:WT parties.  GH just announced Jimi Hendrix, correct?  I'm sure that both games will have additional song surprises before launch; however, I agree with most of the board that the majority of the 20 "announced" DLC for RB2 will be mostly indie/unknowns.  Which is fine, though, considering the track list for the game, and the fact that you can import the DLC and RB1 songs into the new game.  That's the thing I'm most happy about.
