@Landon: I don't know the whole medieval thing just seems dumb to me, I can't take it seriously mostly due to it's associations with movie stereotype D&D crowd ultra nerds. I can deal with everything in fallout because it is set in a universe where all this stuff is happening because of "science" and not "magic". Magic just seems dumb to me and I just have a hard time taking wizards acting tuff seriously IDK why cuz i can tolerate alot of bullshit in games that most people would snicker at, but for some reason fantasy just makes it impossible for me to have any suspension of disbelief

@Cornman89: I have never played MGS2 or MGS3 or MG or MG2 for that matter

@ArbitraryWater: I enjoyed MGS1 quite a bit for it's story, the gameplay was... dated but still enjoyable enough and I enjoyed how easy the stealth was. I am just really unsure as to whether or not I will be able to tolerate MGS2 and enjoy MGS3. I am afraid that I will almost assuredly be on Brad's side about MGS2. MGS2 is MGS1 style gameplay correct, and how stupid is the story and will the fact that I know that the reason behind the dumb shit that happens in MGS2 is nanobots and not just magic be enough for me rationalize the story?

It will be A LOT like Oblivion. It might be best if you skip it entirely.

Mostly the reason I ignored oblivion is because I didnt have an interest in fantasy games and then I played Fallout 3 and enjoyed it and I knew that Oblivion was a worse game and so I had little interest in it. From what I have seen in trailers Skyrim seems to be a fantasy setting I can deal with.

So to begin, both of these games will be bought by me in the near future, but I am only buying one of them next week.

I loved fallout 3 and new vegas and did absolutely everything there is to do in both of them. I hate fantasy games, and had no interest in Oblivion. I am like Patrick though and am interested by this game and the more realistic look and feel of this game's fantasy world seems like it will not be an issue for me. Under normal circumstances I would buy this game first because MGS Hd collection is a bunch of older games and if I've been ok till now not playing them I'll be ok not playing them for a little longer, but the thing is is that I really want the limited edition of MGS because I really like the art for MGS. I don't know if i'll actually like MGS 2 & 3 though. I have only played MGS4 and I recently played MGS1. I loved both of those games and loved the story telling and cutscenes alot, but I didn't like it when the silliness bled into the main story, I have no problem and liked the wierd things you could see and find in MGS4 and MGS1 but I hated the "Johnny shits his pants moments" in the story. I also don't know if I'll like MGS2 or 3's gameplay. So any one got any advice?

@Video_Game_King: Yeah but my point is that those games had in this staff's opinion abysmal multiplayer and yet (excluding RDR which didnt get a review but was a contender for GOTY) they got 5 star reviews. They ignored part of the game and review it based on the part they liked. They flat out said it in the GOTY podcasts. So all you people saying it is ridiculous to ignore part of the game in a review and that jeff should base his score on the whole game are being complete hypocrites, because last time I checked noone is complaining about MGS4 and GTAIV getting 5 star reviews. It would be double standard to mark Battlefield down based on it's poor single player based on this site's actions in the past.

if its in the game, its part of the game. and cant be ignored.

This. Only reviewing the good parts is ridiculous.

Oh really this sites reviews of GTAIV, MGS4, the staffs opinion on RDR and others beg to differ...

@NTM: I just always feel like that sometimes they seem me when I uncloak behind them they magically seem me and other times they don't. and so it is that bushes block the AIs view. Also to the person who said that I should scout, I usually do in these kinds of game, but in this game I just see the AI glitching out and not activating correctly and so it's very hard to work ha

I never feel in control of the situation. Now to preface this, I have never played the original crysis before, but I have played Crysis 2 and I loved it, I played through it 3 times and the 3rd time was on the hardest difficulty. My problem with this game is that the enemies can spot you from so far away and when they see you the immediately go on full alert, and not just getting closer to investigate. There is also no way to take them out while cloaked, and so your forced to uncloak and usually get spotted. I never feel like a bad ass hunting these soldiers, I feel like I'm sloppily getting spotted and shooting them and running away. It's just not that fun for me because I never feel like I'm succceding, I just feel like I'm fumbling my way through.

So does anyone know if I'm just playing the game wrong, how the AI works, or any help on how to actually enjoy this game.

*Also this game is in serious need of a patch, the AI is often simply broken and acts in some really dumb ways.
