This is pretty out of date though. I'm currently level 16 and going through the Dalish woods quests.   I tried to make my character look like Opie from Sons of Anarchy.

  • @Teran: Does the set bonus vary by set? Or is it always a Defense bonus? Not that that isn't nice.  I'm wearing the Juggernaut armor from the Dalish woods myself, because of the resistances. I find that magic users inflict more damage on my warrior than anyone else, so I am really focused on my resistances.

How exactly do you trigger Leilana's quest? I have 100 approval with her and the only dialogue options I've had forever are for her to tell me stories.  On the other hand, we kissed, and Wynne gave me this warning talk about getting involved.   Am I really at the whims of fate, waiting for a random encounter from her past?

  • Vigilance commented on Brad's editorial review God of War Collection
I hated the first game.  Actually, even that's too strong.   It was just boring and dumb, and made me not want to play it.

  • Vigilance replied to the topic How is this not a hustle? in the Dragon Age: Origins board.
It's not a hustle because they're being very honest about what you're getting.  Saying "here's our DLC, it's $7 and here's what you get", as long as they're being honest with that, and they have been, it's definitely not a "hustle".  Just because YOU don't think something is worth the money, does not make it a hustle.

  • Vigilance replied to the topic Dragon Age's AI sucks in the Dragon Age: Origins board.
Ok, so having started this thread around the time of the Redcliffe quest, which I had done right after Ostragar, I will now amend my original statement.  The AI in this game does not suck.  Dragon Age does however, have an EXTREMELY deep learning curve, during which it provides little in the way of tutorials and is pretty unforgiving during that process.   I've tweaked the tactics some, learned when to intervene and learned ...

  • @Rio said: " Um ok do you people actually take everything he says seriously? Do you guys not get the point of what he does?  I find that amusing. "Yeah. This shows that many people take game reviews way too seriously.   Zero Punctuation is clearly about the comedy first. He is not there to provide you with a sober analysis of the pro's and con's of a game.  That said, I can ...

  • I love zero punctuation.   He's sort of a less coherent version of Jeff.   I really *really* am tired of gushing reviews.   Remember when GTA was the best game of all time? When playing it was like watching the Godfather?   Except now its like a year later and Uncharted 2 is the best game of all time?   Too many reviews these days seem written like they want to be quoted on the game's website, or on ...

  • Vigilance replied to the topic Warden's Keep DLC worth the $? in the Dragon Age: Origins board.
I'd say it was worth it. Nice items, nice story, and after the quest you get a storage chest and a couple of good merchants.  I just wish the chest was in your camp, rather than needing to travel up to the keep, but hey, now I'm just being greedy :)

  • Great blog post.  For my part, I was always omnivorous in my RPG preferences.  I'd rate Final Fantasy X, Dragon Quest VIII, Diablo and Fallout 3 and KOTOR as my favorite RPGs of all time.   They're all very different games, and they all have different strengths and weaknesses.   For me, Dragon Age has been very satisfying, once I got past the first 15 hours or so.   It has a *very* sharp learning curve on normal, ...

  • I say "B", though I also would not have added the "doesn't live up" tag.  I didn't expect it to beat KOTOR, my personal favorite Bioware game.   It's a shade better than Mass Effect, and I loved me some Mass Effect.   So basically, my top 5 BW games would be:  1. KOTOR 2. Dragon Age 3. Mass Effect 4. Baldur's Gate 2 5. Baldur's Gate

  • @Teran: That's cool. One of the things I love about BioWare games is the replay value.   For me, the big moment I snapped a little was freeing the Qunari. The chantry mother was really annoying and patronizing to me and I just threatened her with Intimidate.   I liked that most of my party members were totally on board. Only Alistair took a big approval hit.

  • I did consider a 360 btw. I just looked at the consoles and realized the 360 games that were really intriguing to me I had already played (Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect).  On the other hand, as others have mentioned the PS3 games that interest me most (Infamous, Uncharted) don't seem likely to show up anywhere else.

  • @Webby said: " Well why just get FF13 when you can play some AMAZING games. Uncharted 2 Metal Gear Solid 4 Plus there is Final Fantasy Versus XIII.   There is a lot more really great games too. Killzone 2 Little Big Planet  InfamousDemon's Souls Valkyria Chronicles "Oh yeah, I'm not saying I plan on never buying another game for it ever. Heck, members of my household are HUGE Ratchet and Clank fans, so this has been building for ...
