Ahaha. Perfect. XD
Gangsta episode 2 was pretty good, although having not read the manga, I'm start to wonder what a "twilight" is. I'm hoping the series doesn't take too much of a supernatural turn, though I'd probably still be fine with it if it did... guess I'll have to wait & see.
Prison School's first episode was pretty hilarious. The censorship is a bit distracting, but I won't let that stop me from enjoying the comedy side of it.
I watched the first episode of Kurayami Santa, which I love simply for it's complete devotion to it's classic black & white 60's anime style. Everything from the quality of the animation to the style of the voice acting really emulates that era of anime just... perfectly. I'm curious to see if they'll develop the story at all, with it only being 3-minute short episodes, but I like what they've done with the characters & setup so far.
Of course, I've also watched the first episode of Dragon Ball Super, which I liked, but... some of the art looks a bit more modern than I would have liked. I do like the linework here better, though... compared to the Kami to Kami movie. The lines are slightly thicker and have more of a natural feel to them, while still being smooth. The colors are also nice, although I didn't like some of the use of digital textures (like on the snake's skin). Anyway, that's all just minor nitpicks... the show itself seems to be well written thus far, with the characters all really seeming like their old selves. I'm interested to see where it goes from here. Perhaps to another dimension like they hinted at in Kami to Kami?
Outside of currently airing anime:
I've been catching up on One Piece. Currently I've watched up to episode 78, just finishing up the Little Garden arc. I never watched the show back in the day, and it's a lot better than I expected, but still falls into many different shounen trope holes. I don't like how much they focus on battles, but the characters and the overall adventure aspect is totally worth slogging through those overextended fight episodes.
I'm watching the One Piece movies, specials, and OVAs alongside the anime, as well... and those have been pretty decent so far.
I've also been watching Mirai Shounen Conan, which has just been really fantastic thus far. Currently, I've watched the first 9 episodes. It's a total classic, and despite being made in 1978, the art & animation holds up surprisingly well (despite the obvious TV budget constraints).
