I remember the first day I got my n64 and the 2 games my mom rented from Blockbuster (Banjo Kazzoie & NFL Blitz). I wouldn't say the console began my love affair with video games but I had a lot of good times with it. I rented a lot of games but never owned that many, and my favorite one was stolen from me. Here are ten that left the biggest impression on me.
If you asked me what my favorite game on the console was I would say Donkey Kong 64 without hesitation. I remember buying this from blockbuster; it was a used copy and the box was a bit banged up but I was so excited to finally play this. I then remember coming home and not being able to play it because I didn't have the expansion pack. My mom saw the look of sadness on my face and the next day bought me an expansion pack first thing in the morning. I was so happy and had such a good time. When I came home for lunch I would not eat and instead spend the hour playing this. I would go back to school hungry but it was all worth it. I never got passed the lava inside the croc's face because someone stole my copy.
I played this for the first time in Mexico in the 90s and subsequently got this game for myself in 2008. I beat the final boss in 2010 and now I finally understand why everyone always talks about it. It's a good game, definately one of the best for the console and one of my favorites.
Yeah this game is an epic adventure just like everyone says. It's amazing. I played this for the first time when I hurt my arm real bad and couldn't go to school; I got to kikoriko village and was totally lost and gave up. Much later in my life I finished it and had a great time. I'm not really a fan of the series but this is a good game, even though I personally prefer Phantom Hourglass.
This was the game I played when I first got my N64. It was unlike anything else I had seen before. The 7 day limit on blockbuster rentals didn't allow me to finish it but I still had a lot of fun.
I lived in Mexico for a while and the people I lived with had an N64 with this game and we (me and the 4 other kids who lived there) spent so much time playing Mario kart. I didn't speak a lick of spanish but somehow we understood each other and had a blast playing this.
I don't even remember why I love this game, but I really really really love this game.
