59N-KR1-KHF Crane Bane. A short SM1 course focusing on the Swinging Claw mechanic. It has a somewhat tight time limit and I fear that I made it too difficult, but I'm happy how it came out.
Xbox One Elite, mostly because of the build quality and customization. The ergonomics are good, same as the regular X1. Sometimes I feel it's a little too big, but only really in games that require you to use both the shoulder and trigger buttons on one side simultaneously, so it's not a big issue. I really love the customization and especially the rear buttons: I only use 2 of them but I find a good use for them in almost every game I play. I like the Dualshock 4 just fine, but I mostly use my X1 Elite controller with a converter to play PS4 games.
I waited 24 hours for the launch of the Wii. I was with a bunch of friends who did the same and it was a great time. As time goes on, I feel less of a need to do these sorts of things with online ordering becoming much more reliable (in terms of guaranteed stock) and whatnot, but I enjoy going to a midnight game launch every once and a while just for kicks. Last thing I legitimately waited in line for because I wasn't sure if I could get one right away otherwise was the Xbox One.
My school growing up had it for Apple II. I think it was in green and white, but that may have just been due to the monitors not having color. It was the version where you moved around your little dude for hunting. Later, when my family got a PC in the late 90s, we got Oregon Trail 2, which I remember having FMV, but I think my memory is wrong on that count: the game had real people, but I think they were mostly just static images. Funny how my mind filled in the blanks on that.
Been waiting for this. Always enjoyed whenever Dave Lang would talk about albums and groups that he liked on Team GFB Radio (got me into Run the Jewels) and as a rap neophyte I'm always looking for good vector for recommendations beyond Google Play suggestions.
Well, this is a real tough one: this year was the first time that I finished Aria of Sorrow (actually any of the post-Symphony Castlevania games, but Aria's easily the best of the 3 I've played), Metroid: Zero Mission, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Of those, Zelda is probably the best designed (although Zero Mission is a masterpiece in its own right) and I probably had the most outright fun with Aria. Push comes to shove, it's probably Zelda, but man I've played a lot of great old games this year.
I've had several crashes (i7 4790k and AMD Fury, 1440p) and a couple of instances of graphical glitches in the skybox. It's annoying, but certainly not game breaking. On the other hand the game runs much better than The New Order. I'll trade a few crashes for 100fps performance pretty much any day.
Pretty much what other people are saying: get a tempered glass screen protector so you don't have to worry about scratching the screen in the dock or anywhere else and a carrying case for when you want to take it places.
