@mirado: Yeah. It is what it is. I actually have a 144hz monitor, but running at 1440 on high settings in this game, I'm not getting the performance to hit 60 anyway, at least in most areas. But yeah, the frame pacing is super bad, especially since I've gotten used to getting smooth delivery all the time since I got a Freesync monitor. On the plus side, I plus side it got me to play a couple hours of Max Payne 2 yesterday, turns out that game is still great.

Too late. The game runs between 40-50 FPS @1440p on my Fury, but doesn't feel smooth at all. Putting on the 30 FPS lock reports a constant 30, but still feels pretty jerky. Even the FMV TV show feels choppy at times (not sure why, but pausing the episode for a few seconds and starting it back up corrects the issue for a few minutes, doesn't feel streaming related for what it's worth). I'm probably gonna give it a break for a bit and hope they can at least fix the framepacing issues.

@slay3r1583: I heard that they're reliable but never bought anything from them myself. When I built my fully custom stick, I ended up buying a wood case from http://foehammershop.bigcartel.com/. Like you, I thought about building my own box but my total lack of woodworking knowledge put me off. They're really expensive, but the quality is impressive and the build as a whole ended up being a great project.

I'm primarily a stick user but I picked one up about a week ago for travel and I'm actually liking it quite a bit. My execution is slower on the pad, but it will be good for keeping up with my practice when I'm on vacation.

Just finished building this guy today, just in time for SFV. It's my first full custom. I was using a modified Hori Real Arcade Pro V3 before.

I would recommend Phantasy Star but I never played it in its original form and without the niceties added in the PS2 Complete Collection I fear that it might be too much of a slog to have a lot of fun with.

I think @clagnaught has what the game was getting at, but they do a very poor job of explaining it in the moment only explicitly spelling it out when you travel back through Warren's photo hours later. I found it very confusing and frustrating at the time as well.

I don't drink milk by itself, but I put 2% in coffee, although until recently I used half and half.

I had hoped to like it more than I did, but I never really connected with the story or world and there were only a couple of characters that I liked. It didn't help that I ran into a few game ending glitches in the later chapters and couldn't finish the game as a result. The visual aesthetic and music were really good, though and the writing overall was solid, so while I didn't love it, I think it's a pretty great foundation to build a better game on. Looking forward to what MidBoss does next.

The Talos Principal showed me just how much I can enjoy a good, meaty 3D puzzle game, especially if it has an interesting narrative. On top of that I really liked Braid, so $60 seems reasonable if it really is 40+ hours long (and good, but that should go without saying).
