Microtransactions should go the way of the Dodo.

That's like saying sales tax should go the way of the Dodo. As long as someone is profiting off of something it's not going away. If people pay $60 for a game and buy ONE microtransaction, the publisher sees that as money they wouldn't have gotten otherwise. As long as people keep buying into microtransactions they will keep adding them.

While we as consumers might think they suck, we are not the developer or publisher. They can and will do whatever they want for money. We as the consumer have to stop buying into it so they stop adding them.

My favorite part of this game was the intro where he shoots the door with his Batmobile guns. I just remember the rest not being very fun.

Am I the only one that sees no problem with reviewing the console itself? Every other piece of hardware (tablets, phones, TVs, dishwashers, etc) get reviewed, why not consoles? Do you buy a phone without looking at any reviews for the phone itself and just look at reviews of random apps?

I'm not supporting Polygon at all, I've never actually been to their site, but I see no issue with reviewing the console. It may be a bit early since I don't know if they even have access to the day one firmware update, but everything gets reviews, what makes the console itself immune?

Reviewing the console isn't an issue its assigning it a number. The value and potential of the system will shift over time arbitrarily attaching a number to it is fucking dumb. Its plenty plausible to write up a pro/con sort of list to let people know what they are getting for $400 at launch but an actual score is dumb.

That's true, and why I think having the review so early is a bit weird. But phones update constantly as well with new versions of Android, iOS or whatever. My phone is like a whole different phone compared to when it was released. It doesn't stop places like CNET saying 4/5 stars.

Even games get huge patches with new content, no one goes back to those and says, "Update the score because of this patch!". I think games/hardware/consoles should be reviewed at launch as is with day one patches/updates. I don't think putting a number score is an issue. If you have an issue with a number score on a console I would imagine you have an issue with any kind of rating scale?

I just finished this game today and I have to say the graphics are phenomenal.

I'm primarily a PC gamer with a pretty nice computer, so I've played games like Crysis 3, Battlefield 3, Metro Last Light, and The Witcher 2 max out, but the graphics in this game kept surprising me.

It's amazing how far they have been able to push 6 year old hardware. I can see some parts where it would be nice to have higher polygon models, but the lighting and textures really impressed me.

Any review that starts with, "Okay, my review is only going to focus on the negative aspects of the game", is a pretty awful "review".

This guy is pathetic. He's an embodiment of every forum whiner, Internet complainer, petition writing, game "boycotting, idiot.

I really like Flatout. I was only a little disappointed that the latest BugBear Flatout game, Flatout: Ultimate Carnage, was just a port of the console version. The console version was just a port of Flatout 2 for the PC. So they pretty much made and resold Flatout 2 twice to PC gamers, which rubbed me the wrong way.

I'd be surprised if this wasn't intentional on Destructoid's part to 'accidentally leak' such an obviously controversial 'critique' of a controversial game so early. EZ PAGE VIEWZ AM I RIGHT GUYZ. Games journalism!

The game sounds really cool, and watching the livestream from 2K last Friday has me onboard. A game having a long development does not mean anything at all anymore - just as many have been great as have been disappointing. FYI :)

I was thinking the EXACT same thing and I fucking fell for it. I went to their stupid website. They got me.
