Assassins Creed Public Service Announcement

Hello,

I gather you all here in hopes to properly reset the general consensus that Assassins Creed III is a poor entry in the series.

This is a fallacy. I do not intend to say that people who have played and completed the game and still dislike it should "change their shitty opinion," but rather I mean to speak truth to those who have yet to play it.

I played the original Assassins Creed as well as its sequel - I even played Brotherhood. But I valued the opinion of the Giant Bomb staff too high to throw $60 at AC III at launch. The team had made valid points about it's slow start, and a slow start it has.

But hot damn it's a really great Assassins Creed game.

I just finished Black Flag and decided that I was stupid to not at least give AC III it's chance, so I started it up on PC. I'm about 3/4's through to full synch and loving everything about it. The setting, the characters, and even the collectibles hold the same hook that the other games in the series so faithfully carry. (aside from revelations, I bought that shite and regret it)

The Giant Bomb crews statement that it starts waaaaay to slow is too true. But to clarify, the first 4 to 5 hours of this game does not allow the player to fully start collecting/assassinating/crafting to 100% synch, but right after that 4 to 5 hour mark, it opens up to be a very stunning entry in the series.

So if you felt like Black Flag was a great time, and you missed out on the conclusion of the Desmond storyline, give it shot. It's $15 on the steam autumn sale at the moment. (11/30/2013)
