I am the same way. Hell, if I have no interest in any new games I just replay old games.

Over the last few weeks its been a lot of Borderlands. I'm trying to limit myself to one game a month in the fall so right now I'm looking at Borderlands 2, Dishonored, hitman: Absolution, and Assassin's Creed 3.

Borderlands. Not sure why I waited so long to pick it up. It's right up my alley.

But yes, this summer drought has been brutal. Even more frustrating is that targeting late fall release is only going to be effective for a very select few top AAA games. Everything else gets buried in the deluge. You could go for summer release and have an entire week or two of sales entirely uncontested by any competing games. But no. We must all clusterfuck the holiday season. -______-

I'm play a lot of Skyrim and Mass Effect 1, Fun times!!

Only about a week before the Gaming Industry is revving up again. Darksiders 2 will be a killer application I'm sure. Giddy with anticipation. Sleeping Dogs looks like great entertainment too, if you fancy playing that type of game this close to GTAV. Let's not forget Guild Wars 2, the true heavy weight this month. Revving up for its WoW-Killer run on the throne of MMORPGs. *pours oil in the flames*

Kept me afloat with a diet of BF3 & Guild Wars 2 Beta events, and playing through the Dawn of War games and Company of Heroes, as well as the entirety of Assassin's Creed 2 Trilogy (oh how I loathe thee). Every now and then, I still pop in SSX or Hot Pursuit on my PS3, for that old school arcadey fun I enjoy so much.

I'm playing SPAZ and approaching 50 hours but unfortunately i've hit a brick wall in the 4th chapter that's lowering my opinion of it.

around this time of the year i always have tons of games to play because i have a massive backlog-- which is something i oddly don't attend to during this time of the year. i probably finish like 1 or 2 games during the summer i'm feeling up to it. i mostly spend it playing games with my friends that don't really need to be beaten, like Super Street Fighter IV or Minecraft.

obviously, i'm looking forward to Dead or Alive 5, but i'm mighty excited for Borderlands 2 as well, and i'm wondering how Sleeping Dogs turns out as a fan of the True Crime games..

I've never understood why some developer doesn't grasp the moment and put a game out in July with a good amount of pubicity. I think most gamers are so starved they would buy anything. I suppose they have done the research and it isn't worth it but if some decent Btier game came out in July/August say a Singularity or Vanquish it would surely do OK - don't you think.

In any case there's nomally something worth playing. I'm tucking into the MGShd collection as it contains all the MGS games I haven't played. Very much enjoying 2 at the moment.

Looking forward to Darksiders 2 and really hoping Sleeping Dogs is worth a play (can't believe they are both coming out on the same day after such a drought) - could do with a GTAesque city to run riot in while I fantasise about (the sure to be much delayed) GTA5.

I'm looking forward to Sleeping Dogs. It's been getting some good review scores so far and I'm hopeful for an enjoyable open world experience.

In regards to older games, my Vita is providing me with some incredible fun at the hands of Persona 3 which I'm playing for the first time. I'm about 40 hours in and loving it. I just ran into a cameo role from Vincent Brook of Catherine fame, which was AWESOME to say the least.

I did also just finish a playthrough of Binary Domain recently which was enjoyable for the most part.

Going back and playing old games. Playing my way through Human Revolution for the first time, and between that and Minecraft, my gaming has been good enough to last me through this.

That said, can't wait for Darksiders 2, ACIII, and Borderlands 2.

I have been playing the technic pack mods for minecraft. I have been considering picking up Sleeping Dogs but I am not sure.

I don't understand you people who don't have anything to play. You've played every game that's come out that's of interest to you? Zero backlog at all?

Just started going back to MGS 4 to get those shiny new achievements and finally complete my set of essays for the series.

Picked up Billy Hatcher on the Gamecube, heard it was good, but haven't put any time into it.

I'm looking at a steam list with a trillion games I haven't touched and not seeing anything that interests me.

I feel ya dude. Fortunately Persona 4 Arena is the stat of fall gaming for me. That and Darksiders 2 will keep me going for a bit.

My city is pretty small (~40,000 people), but I'm lucky enough to live 5 minutes away from TWO 24-hour mega-marts, a Wal-mart and one called Meijer (which is like a Wal-mart but a little nicer.) There's also a McDonalds in the same plaza that never closes, but that doesn't really don't really eat there anymore. I think I'm gonna go get Persona at midnight, even though I'll probably have to pester the Wal-mart guy to get me a copy from the back. My sleep schedule's been crazy this summer, stay up till 4AM and sleep until Noon. (which is going to radically change as soon as the semester starts).

Oh man I remember Meijer whenever I visited my cousins in Kentucky, they had 2$ Star Wars figures, that was a big deal when I was 10.

I'm pretty jealous right now, but whatever half a day isn't too big of a difference.

I've had a similar schedule this summer, trying to change it though. It would be perfect for Persona, but ah well. I think I'll start a new game in Persona 4 and see how far I can get tonight. Been a while since I've seen the ol' investigation team.

yeah, i hate this time of year also since there aren't a lot of games coming out. a bunch of people are going on vacation so there isn't a lot of work being done. kids, college people, are home from school.

I've got so much to play during this so called "drought" that I kinda question every else when they say they have nothing. Seriously, like nothing in that Steam sale attracted you? If not you obviously have like 200 unplayed games in your library from other sales, play those!

Darksiders 2 is out pretty damned soon. Looking forward to that. During the summer I bought The Amazing Spider-Man to keep myself entertained, in which it succeeded very well.

i'm running through a bunch of old games i never beat. trying to beat banjo kazooie at the moment, and a bunch of other shit.

I'm doing a triple threat of a replay through ME3 for the alternate endings, Skyrim/Dawnguard (just out on PC), and Endless Space.

@VoshiNova: If you enjoy adventure games, Deponia is coming out today on steam I think and it got a good review from gamespot. I haven't played it but it seems great (less serious than Wadjet's games though).

Currently playing all the old Tony Hawk's Pro Skaters (1 ⁊ 2 play like fucking bollocks now). Going back over all the goals, my younger self didn't have the skill for. I also ordered the Skate games from Amazon, because fuck, skating is awesome again, I guess. Not really awaiting any new releases, but yeah, 2012 is pretty dead.

I'm just waiting for Guild Wars 2. : (

i don't miss them. i got a stack of games i've still not get round to playing. these gaming holes are great for catching up imo.

currently playing SR3 and Dead Island both of which i picked up off steam during the sale REALLY enjoying both. i havnt even started Rayman, Deus Ex HR, Fall out NV, Alice or Mirror Edge yet. and by the time i finished SR2 and Dead Island Darkstalkers 2 and Dishonoured will be close then it autumn and thing will pick up.

plus its summer and outside is more fun than inside this time of year. i always feel guilt sat inside playing games when its a nice evening.

A combination of Minecraft, Zelda, and whatever is at hand.

I stocked up on the steam sale like a bear does for hibernation (I'm so clever). So I've been busy with a ton of games. Most recent game I've been playing is mafia 2 ( bit disappointed so far) and battlefield 3 (I knew it would be better than consoles but didnt know it was gonna be infinitely better). Also traded my copy of skyrim and bf3 in for skyrim on pc. Pretty happy with that too

This whole "let's not release any new games right now" section of the year has got me down duders.

On the bright side, it has given me a chance to go finish the Wadjeteye games I've not touched since purchased.

Gemini Rue was freakin awesome! A must play for people who like things.

I'm on Resonance now, and loving it. Not the same "umph" that Rue had, but very quirky and fun nonetheless.
