Maneater should be considered. In a few minutes it teaches you most all the different moves and abilities and then before you really get a good feel for them it gives you an extremely annoying encounter within minutes of starting the game that feels absolutely impossible to do the way they want you to. The best way to get past it is to ignore what it's asking you to do. I think it wants you to try to build speed to launch out of the water and bite the enemies in the air, which is difficult to do normally, but during tutorial you are constantly being targeted so you're mashing the dodge button to break the target lock. You simply won't have much luck repeatedly doing this sequence of events and actually landing attacks which makes this horrible sequence take forever while you just get constantly damaged.

Instead if you just resort to dodging while surfacing you leap out of the water clumsily but that can be aimed and you can mash bite as well. This gets you through the fight super quickly (and is a great tactic throughout the game). The actual move of leaping out of the water properly to snap at an enemy during your arc just sucks most the time (or at least takes a lot more practice so you'll get better in hour or two into the game, not in the first few minutes).

Anyhow, rant over. I really liked the game but I tell everyone to just get past the garbage tutorial using the tactic above and it's far easier to enjoy once the game opens up proper into the actual main game.

@customotto: She announced it on her Twitter, on the Beastcast, and it was also talked about in the weekly Community post. Her last day is the end of November. She decided to leave due to something related to the buyout it seems since that's what she's referenced and in the Beastcast it seems it's something she's been discussing with Vinny prior and this presented the right timing for her. And she's mentioned any suggestions on places hiring or whatever so there's not something specific lined up at the moment.

Lastly, they've asked that people don't discuss anything like who could be hired on or anything.

I really enjoyed her part in this video as she often seemed the most focused on the business side of ghost hunting. Everyone else would dip away but she was always hanging out in the room yelling for the ghost to party. It's just a job and someone has to do it.

Sunset Overdrive had some pretty great wallrunning. With the game's focus on keeping a movement flow once you get wallrunning it all comes together and you can generally get from A to B without touching the ground.

@mrhappy-pants: Thanks. I went to his profile recently but didn't think to click on blog as I don't really use most community feature stuff here. That looks to be exactly what I was needing! I won't be doing something similar in the immediate future but this looks to be a project in coming months perhaps.

@heatdrive88: Thanks for the reply. I was able to find the mailbag video. Unfortunately the person that made the kit doesn't appear to have made a making of video. It did at least give me a little more info so I may have some ideas on getting things set up using this info and some of the other stuff I've seen online from others.

Thanks!

Is there anywhere that @alex has posted more details about his setup? I ask because I thought what he's using is an Ion drum kit for Rock Band 4 on an Xbox One (basing it off of button prompts on the screen). But looking at the compatibility chart from Harmonix that shouldn't be possible? Or I'm misunderstanding something there.

I've been getting back into Rock Band a lot more and have started looking into putting in the money to update my setup from Rock Band Pro Drums on the 360 right now to possibly some sort of Ion/MIDI drum set for the Xbox On with Rock Band Rivals.

And sorry to Alex for tagging him but figure he may know the answer to this as well. Thanks for all the drumming! It's part of the impetus for me to get back into it (and definitely envious over the total amount of songs so I started buying up new songs, too).

Abby designing a Sims house is the Dril tweet about budgeting problems with thousands dedicated to candles.

She wants to upgrade furniture so the meters fill up quicker but has to juggle the cost with hundreds of dollars to decorate her teen sims walls, replacing wallpaper multiple times in a row with each time costing a hundred+ sim dollars, and needs every possible way to fuck in a single bedroom despite only one really being necessary.

But as I've said, I welcome this chaos. It eats at me, because I'd be playing to maximize meters first and then money would go towards aesthetics, but the craziness is part of the joy of watching things unfold.

Oh hey, pretty sure I'm that "someone in the comments" referenced at the start. Hopefully that didn't seem like I was criticizing the choices being made. I was mostly just curious. I welcome the chaos brought into Dobby's life.

As per usual, I just hope one of these days we get a longer marathon session (especially since these don't always seem to come weekly? Maybe they are and I'm just eager).

Next up I really look forward to the housing remodel. As with my previous question about booting out the kids that grow up, I'm always thinking about efficiencies so I can't wait to see how the household progresses over time. Keep up the great work!

@roadshell: Ah, fair enough. I thought the limit was 8 so there would have been room for another before booting them out.

@ybbaaabby Great series. Continue to hope you'll have the time to do a longer session but I'll take what you can fit in!

Just curious, why were you so eager to move out Simeona when you weren't at the cap for people in the household? It would seem helpful to have a second adult who could continue to assist with everything (baby, pottytraining, painting for income, etc.) while you have the room in the house and boot them when needed?

Of course the one negative is space/furniture needs but I'd think the extra hands helping would make that worth updating the house for them?

But ultimately I love the craziness so honestly maybe it'll be better with added chaos of fewer helping hands!
