Remember Hellgate: London?, here comes Hellgate: Tokyo!

So I remember Hellgate: London, I liked it for a couple of hours but It didn't exactly turn into a smash hit and actually ended up shutting down, so why someone would choose to make a sequel to a game that lasted for less time then Tabula Rasa is kind of idiotic to me, but regardless I'll probably end up trying it and the first trailer for it is below.

Maybe this one will be better, the current company that owns the Intellectual Property is actually the company that distributed Starcraft in Korea and also developed Tantra Online, I still don't think the title is going to be superhuge like World of Warcraft, Everquest, Lineage or even Guild Wars but it's nice to see the game didn't completely die when London went down.

Anyways, here's some Concept art and the Debut Teaser for Hellgate: Tokyo which is supposed too include unreleased Hellgate: London content and additional new features / creatures / stories.

This gotta be fake.

Gasp! I loved Hellgate London. Playing the single player is heartbreaking without all the people running around. I think London still runs in places in Asia.

I'm rooting for Hellgate: Albequerque.  Or maybe Hellgate: Lake Titticaca.

More like Hellboy Tokyo. That demon has to be infringing copyrights or something.

actually i'll probably check this out. while the original game was butt ugly and buggy as fuck. there was still something about it that made me actually complete it and even play through it several times. i dunno, i actually enjoyed it.

hopefully this will improve on some of the original flaws. unlikely.

My brother loved London so I am sure he will be stoked if true. I on the other hand I am more then happy to pass up on it.

I enjoyed the first, for a couple of hours. Bought it really cheap in a sale, like 8 bucks or 10, and I played it for about 10 hours. More or less, it was 2 seals and half way through the third.
Had some cool moments, but most were early on the game. Later parts felt bland and boring.
I will look at what happens with Tokyo. Im certainly interested in Sci Fi samurais xD

@Toxic:  I believe that's what Hellgate: Tokyo was going to be but they renamed it to resurrection, still seems like a game I could sink a few hours into before I got bored of it.

@Jeust: You still haven't proven anything to me, its the same video you we saw earlier. It still looks fake.

Shit, that totally sounds like a Peter North flick. Gotta google that.

On the topic - you got to be fucking kidding me. The only way that game can be good is if they totally rip off Borderlands. And that would still not deserve any praise.

Ok... then look at the blog of Hanbitsoft's PR:

http://hanbitgame-espresso.blogspot.com/2009/12/hi-guys.html

and to the fourth paragraph:

"On November 12th, 2009 HanbitSoft held a press conference and announced 'Hellgate: Resurrection'. There, we made large development issues including opening a new world(2.0 version, which is named Hellgate: Resurrection) and will be FREE to PLAY. We are going to have an Abyss Chronicle Patch on 22nd of December, and more updates will be continued from then including Hellgate: Tokyo which is planned to open next spring.

And i don't think why everyone is having such a hard time believing... The franchise doesn't belong to Flagship anymore. Now belongs to Hanbitsoft, and as an asian software company it seems normal that they'd try to grab that market with Hellgate: Tokio.

It could end up being good in the hands of those Korean dudes.

And here's a link to the Wikipedia article. We're going to get a North American release.

Ressurection is a re-release of London. Tokyo, um, not sure whether I'm interested.
