What fascinates me more then that fact that a girl posted sexy photos of herself on a video game website is the way the community has reacted to the photos. When I was reading the 600+ posts in Ms_Chivios last blog post about how she might upload "suggestive" pictures of herself I couldn't help but notice that some users were really acting different. Some people felt the need to really suck up to her while others chose to ridicule her about her decision to post the pictures while others just chose to post some funny perverted joke. I myself acted a bit strange to, instead of commenting on her photos when she posted them I chose to post the technical aspects of the pictures. I'm not really the nervous type but I guess it just feels weird commenting on hot pictures of someone on giant bomb, I thought facebook was the only place for that type of stuff.

Personally, I'm down for talking to anybody, regardless of looks or anything.  I think it's pretty ridiculous how many of the folks are acting in those threads and blogs.  I hold doubt solely because this is the internet and the behavior exhibited to this point is suspect in my own eyes.  While I'm not a mod and therefore have little to no authority on the manner, I am a member of the GB community and therefore will call into question something like this.

Holy crap... The only thing that changes on these forums is a million people make a million threads discussing the other thread in question. It's a girl people, albeit a very pretty one. No need to post these threads.

I think of it like the South Park episode Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society.  Its a perfect summation of what happens when a girl is on the internet.

This just in, men act differently when they think they might get sex! Of course they did, they think they are talking to a girl and some small part of them thinks they need to act differently. That is why most real women online don't let on that they are because they wont get treated the same way. And that's why a lot of men pretend to be girls online because they can get special treatment.

We have quite a few female users on the site. No one asks Fallen-something or JackiJinx if they're a dude, because they don't post suggestive photos of themselves or have their first blog reach 20+ pages and then locked. Her blog getting that many comments is just further proof that we are all JUVENILES here, not a single exception.

But really, the reaction has been laughably ridiculous, and I can't help but think it would have been different only months ago. The number of users on the site has increased by quite a bit lately, and I think most of the problems are coming from newer members.
