I used to be pretty poor so I couldn't afford new games or magazines before the internet got big and fast so I ripped demo cds from official playstation magazine and some other magazine at the store and played those a lot. Of course if shareware counts as a demo then Dooms and Duke Nukems and all kinds of crazy games back in those days. After those demo cd days I haven't really touched demos.

I did just that. I've always been a PC gamer, but my computer was few years old and and I wanted to get ready for 2011. Lots of good stuff coming. Steam also makes everything so much easier and cheaper.

Like 4chan or not, this is a pretty decent little guide to parts. One thing I learned from my newest computer that never happened before is that it's pretty important to check the measurements right, these new graphics cards and CPU coolers are big as fuck and it would be a real bummer if you buy a case that's too small and they won't fit. I barely fit my GPU in there and it was a matter of millimeters and forcing cables into weird places.

What a sexy game. Having a great time with it. Good compromise between simulation and casual shooting. Damage modeling is supposed to be pretty deep and there's room for some strategy when you're slowly sneaking behind the enemy spotting dudes for teammates. Then when you finally get there and start shooting it's ricochet after ricochet and then you die. Definately worth checking out.

" I never got the logic with your companions in RPG's leveling up. Like, I don't bring Allistar with me but when I come back to camp, he's ready to level up? What the fuck did he ever do except sit on his ass? "
Isn't that a pretty new mechanic though? I don't remember unused characters leveling up at all from older RPGs. There was always some spot where you got separated from everyone except that one shitty character you never used and he was at level 3 when everyone else was level 54.

Or after you've killed 2000 soldiers three of them surround you in a cutscene, you're captured and lose all gear.

I hate when in FPS games, even if you're in dense jungle or forest, every enemy spots you through everything when you can't even see them. I know it's probably super hard to program, but same rules should apply to them.

I feel like it's more common to have a bad shotgun. Most games have shotguns that don't do shit if the enemy isn't right in front of you and the spread is insane.

I like Doom and Resident Evil shotguns. Killing Floor and Metro 2033 had good ones too.
