An actual blog here

I'm only so good at keeping up blogs, especially blogs at sites geared at a certain area of interest and not focusing just on the blogs, more or less.  I figure I can jot down a couple things about my life right now.  I'm working at a job I don't particularly like that I don't know how long they'll keep me, as it's a temporary job on second shift, and they normally don't run a second shift.  The job itself isn't bad, but I hate the hours.  Seems like there's only time to work and sleep, and I have to steal time to do anything else, gaming included.  I'm looking for a job that'll let me go back to school (ie give me the flexibility in hours to take classes, yes pay me enough to pay for the classes as well as my running living expenses.)  And I'm in the process of trying to figure out what my dream job is and how to pursue it, as well as once again trying to build a good relationship with God.  Job, God, housecleaning:  three things that will take time to sort out, yet I want to rush because I feel like they should've been done years ago.  And I'm in the process of replacing a car, which will take a big chunk of my savings as soon as we find a direction to skeet that money in.  Just build my first computer with my tax return (with the budget being limited by the aforementioned car monies.)  Not the greatest, but it's mine, and I left myself room to upgrade.
AMD Athlon II X2 245 Regor 2.9GHz Dual Core Processor
ASUS M4A785-M Motherboard with ATI Radeon HD4200 onboard graphics
Cooler Master RC-310 Mid-Tower Case
Cooler Master RS-460 460W Power Supply
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 160GB Hard Drive
G-SKILL DDR2800 2GB Memory Module
Windows 7 Home Premium OEM For System Builders
Came out to $396.92.  Put it together, it turned on, but wouldn't post.  Called ASUS.  They said it may be a bad memory stick, as I was using onboard memory. Went to Office Max and got a Crucial DDR2 800 2GB memory module (called ASUS from the store to make sure it was compatible with the board.)  Still didn't work.  Returned the CPU (could have a bad graphics module.)  Someone suggested a few days later that I also return the MB, but since I already started the return process on the CPU, to just return the MB and go ahead and order a new on to get it on its way so I wouldn't have to wait longer for the new mobo.  Only I got the CPU and MB as a combo and lost my combo discount.  Anyway, got the new CPU and MB, and put the computer together and it worked.  Later bought a Galaxy NVIDIA GeForce GX240 1MB video card at Best Buy (didn't feel like waiting for a card I found online to get to me.)  Wish I would've read where the recommended minimum card to put into a computer nowadays was a card or two above that one!  Oh, well. Still the fastest computer I've ever had, and it plays the games I have.  Not maxed out, but it runs them (as opposed to when I tried GTA IV with teh onbaord graphics, where it walked it.)  So I got about six hundred in right now.  Thinking about replacing the power supply to make sure I got the juice for a new CPU (quad core this time) and beefier graphics card.  Then it's a matter of what to do with the standby parts.  I saw on Intructables.com where a dude gutted an old Mac and put int parts to run Snow Leopard.  My mom has an old Compaq 486/33 All In One that I'm considering a similar project with.
I've been thinking of starting a thread with one of my favorite parts of the Bombcast in it, but never got around to it.  I figure I may use this blog for it, so here goes.
Hey, Kev.
Hey, hey!
How ya doin, man?
Doin, ahight.
What'cha been playin?
Mostly Facebok games.  Cause working so many hours, in the few working hours that I'm at home, I'm on the computer on the internet, so they're right there.   I play Mafia Wars, Cafe World, and Vampires: The Dark Age regularly.  Still trying to finish off New York in Mafia Wars.  Doing whatever mission the second mission that you needed Blackmail Photos for was (don't feel like bringing it up right now.)  Mastered a few foods in Cafe World over the weekend.  Don't remember which ones.  I'm trying to save up enough to expand my cafe again, to the lavish one I think.  VDA, I haven't been able to do Kill the Slayer and the one after Sire Summons yet, so I pretty do Sire Summons over and over to build my levels.  And I get killed a bunch, but at least when you die, you're not penalized as much as you are in Knighted, which I got to the point where I only played it after a few days after a bunch of money built up because I was saving up to buy the castle.  I bought the castle, and I'm done with Knighted.  And I just got into Restaurant City last weekend, and I been playing that.  Just made it to level 15, so I unlocked drinks, which is cool.  A friend just recommended Bite Me, and I like that.  It's cool that it's not just menus.
Actual games, I played a little Batman: Arkham Asylum PC.  I got it in the Games for Windows sale.  I beat it on normal and hard and I got all the Riddles so I got the Challenges left, so I'm making my way througyh those.  And I still need the Achievements for a 40 hit combo and Freeflow Perfection.  I always forget all the moves I have to do when I attempt it.  There was a video on Inside Xbox, but I can't find it now.  I even Googled it and can't find it.  Been playing GTA IV PC.  Right now, I'm at the point where I can off Faustin, but I'm doing the Brucie missions first.  Played some GRID.  Got that on sale.  I don't like that the Seaam version doesn't have Achievements, but I couldn't argue with seven bucks.  So I'm trying to make my way though that.  Been playing Midnight Club:LA on 360, and I'm at the point on that where it's hard to progress.  Playing Mass Effect one. Going back through as an Adept to get the Achievements for the Adept specific abilities.  Then I'm gonna go through as an Engineer for those, then go through it on Harecore and Insane.  And I wanna finish it as just the stock Sheppard, but I always play as a Lady Sheppard cause I hate Dude Sheppard's voice.  And I played some Persona 4.  I got the bad ending, then went back though it in the New Game + (or whatever they call it in Persona 4) and got to the end of October and hadn't maxed out Dojima's S-Link, so I went back to an earlier save.  I made it back through the club to fight the baby for Teddie's special weapon after weeks of getting tired of fighting weak dudes,  and a couple times dying.  Leveled up some S-Links.  And now, I'm trying to decide what to do with the Monday before exams.  And that's what I been playing.

QOTD

I just lost my job, so money that could go to games must go to bills and gas and other such things.  So nothing but old games for the foreseeable future.  I'm close to S-Rank in Shadow Complex (I'm at level 48 with all other Achievements gotten) and Fable II (need the Companions.  Tried it once and the guy I was attempting it with just gave up and we went and fought in the Crucible.  Did get the Double Threat out of that session, though.)  Just found a few games on Steam that my old desktop will run, so considering getting AudioSurf or Plants vs Zombies to hold me until I can afford Torchlight (kicking myself for missing the sale because I never checked Torchlight's system requirements, just assumed that since it was new, my system couldn't handle it.)  Still have things to do in Lego Indy 1, and haven't finished Just Cause, the Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, or Midnight Club LA.  May try to finish the challenges in Street Fighter IV for those achievements, but I get my buttocks straight handed to me whenever I play online, so those may forever elude me.  May finish Kung Fu Panda, but I really don't like it.  It came with my system and I wanted Achievements, but it's boring.  May try to finish Devil May Cry 4 on hard for that Achievement someday, but it's hard to get back into it.  If I can get unemployment, I'm considering Mass Effect, Ninja Gaiden II, and The Force Unleashed, and I never got X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Batman: Arkham Asylum,  Forza Motorsport 3, or Dragon Age: Origins, and I wanna try Prototype (I know people say Infamous is better, but I only have a 360 for now.)  Really want Bayonetta, and I'm considering Darkstalkers when the price drops some.
Oh yeah, still have PS2 games I haven't beaten as well.  I have yet to get the good ending in Persona 4, and I bought Kingdom Hearts again to see who the chick in Dead Fantasy II was and stopped playing once I got stuck in Atlantis and then got Persona 4, and I still have yet to beat Shadow of the Colossus or Dark Cloud 2.
