PC Games need achievements on either Steam or GFWL!!! (An embarrasing/funny flash from 2011)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not really an achievement whore. I just want developers to put a little more effort into how they reward players for doing cool stuff in their games. Currently, achievements are the most widely accepted form of this.

It really bothers me when a high profile game like Mass Effect 2 comes out, and there isn't support for achievements. There is no excuse, Steamworks is FREE! EA seems to be the biggest jerk when it comes to this. Dead Space 2 was just released, and anything "special" from the console versions just isn't there.

When Mass Effect 2 was about to come out, I assumed that like Dragon Age: Origins, Bioware would have set-up their own achievement system. Boy, was I wrong.

It isn't just EA games either. From the looks of it, The Witcher 2 also does not have achievements. What the hell is this? CD Projekt RED, you have the perfect game for achievements. Also, I have no idea why Stalker: Call of Pripyat doesn't have any achievements either (Actually, I do, it's a Stalker game.)

Personally, there have been times I have purposefully not bought a PC game, simply because there were no achievements. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Two Worlds 2 come to mind.

I don't understand how major publishers have increased their PC games to $60 and don't give the same value as consoles get, even though there are NO royalty fees for PC development.

2019 Edit: Some of this shit still happens and I totally understand why now. Nice rant, 23-year-old me.
