I'm going to miss him immensely; the tech, aircraft, milsim talk, and the low-flying puns and jokes.

You are mad. Also, you don't reach for control, you simply depress it with the first joint of your pinky. (And I'm 6'7'', with hands to match.)

Thinking about it, you didn't solve that one, did you? Isn't shift/control just harder to hit? Also, good luck crouching diagonally to the left.

Yeah, I'd say they are fairly all right. Except for my Red Dead Redemption PC port.

Ammo from sunderers or engineers. Use the voice menu, "v", to ask for it.

Never ending. When one side captures an entire continent, they get a pretty nice bonus, lasting 'till another side captures the same continent.

Generators belong to the base they are in, so if it is an enemy base, destroy it, friendly base, repair it. Important in base takeovers.

There are no alliances between the races, but they could decide it would be beneficial for them to not fire upon each other. Don't expect it to last, though.

Station cash is real money, alternative to unlocking with cert points. Buy from store.

Characters are tied to a server, accounts are not. So you have to, as far as I know, make a new character.

You don't get minerals from XP, you get it from holding territory. Every 15 or 20 min, I believe.

Fastest way to level would be to find a strong group, roll around and capture bases. The capture bonus is quite nice, but does not account for more than say 5-10 kills. So just joining a heavy fight should net you a nice amount of XP. Also, watch out for double XP weekends.

In the MMO parlance, outfit is a guild, squad is a party.

Horatio Hornblower, by C.S. Forester.

I see someone has already mentioned Aubrey-Maturin, and while they are all well and good, Hornblower is still my favourite. (And the original, I might add.)

After all, Hemingway says; "I recommend Forester to everyone literate I know."

Don't listen to these people, Amaru, the first one was indeed the best. Furthermore, the end of 3 will ruin the continued appeal of the mass effect universe for you, I know it did for me.

You list all the vitals, I would probably upgrade the gpu first, if you need better performance.

You ask about unsafe temperatures, cutoff depends on component, but is usually around 90-100C. 65C idle is a bit high. Google your cpu (if that is what is reaching 65) and see what others measure temperature under idle/load to be.

And by cutoff I mean the computer will shut down. Hopefully no damage, but avoid it.

This is going to age me a bit, but I read the first Harry Potter book when I was 11. And sort of followed the age progression from there.

Though I suppose my favorite series as a "young adult" was Jan Guillou's "Crusades" series.
