Yeah seriously. I was bummed that other news outlets picked this up and ran with it the other day, but happy that Giant Bomb didn't fall for it. Now I'm less happy.

Good article! NFS: World is the first one of these I've put more than a few minutes into before giving up on it. It seems like a decent game, but yeah, the business model is prominent almost to the point of absurdity. I'd love to get into one of these some day as I think the concept is great.

I don't use an ad blocker and I'd actually happily pay for a membership to this site. Been a fan of you fine gentlemen and your work for years, it's my favorite bit of the internet.

I think their emulation of vector displays is actually really cool, and I'd love to see more vector games on the service.
 
I haven't bought any Game Room games yet, partially because of the very issues you describe.

Your thoughts mirror how I'm feeling about it. I'm not entirely sure what this product is for, or what market it serves. Most folks would be better off with a laptop. And, I'm saying this as an iPhone owner and a strong supporter of owning superfluous technology.

Portland, Oregon, 16mbps cable, works pretty well. The only issue I have is that sometimes videos cut off just before they're supposed to end.

Sounds like an awesome week of content. I love it.
