In almost every review I've seen about this game, the ending is getting a lot of praise and has piqued my interest. Can somebody who has beaten the game give a synopsis of it?

There's no way I'm going to plow through 40 hours of a game for the last hour, and I'm hoping the ending reveal isn't something along the lines of, "Now that you've beaten the Dragon, you BECOME the Dragon! To save the world and stuff! And the pawns are all the previous people who've killed it! You know, like Final Fantasy X and stuff!"

On every character build I see, a rare level X weapon is recommended and I have no idea how many packs you'd have to go through before fully upgrading something like the Graal Spike Thrower.

It's random, so of course you don't know how many packs it would take to get one. Some people get rare stuff the first time they purchase a pack.

I didn't ask about getting one, anyone can get lucky. I'd like to hear from someone about how many it took to get the same rare weapon TEN times.

I'm curious about what amount of money the average player spends on equipment packs. On every character build I see, a rare level X weapon is recommended and I have no idea how many packs you'd have to go through before fully upgrading something like the Graal Spike Thrower.

Personally, I haven't spent any money but have played quite a bit, so I have the majority of the weapons on level 1.

People who wear hoodies are always bad guys. Also, he was pretty bad in the first, too.

Just stumbled on this, and it's a bit prescient considering the recent shooting of Trayvon Martin.

As for Alex Mercer, I agree with everyone saying that he was never a hero. One of the reasons I liked Prototype was that you were a emotionless murderer in the gameplay and pretty close to that in the cutscenes. There was no obvious disconnect like in most of Rockstar's open world games.

The Darkness tentacle stuff is fantastic as is the Darkling, but I could have done without him farting and pissing on things. I unlocked the power that allowed me to grab him with the left arm and chuck him at an enemy's face. That power, combined with the earlier upgrade which levitates guys you hit with an vertical swing, gave me a lot of options for crowd control. I wasn't expecting anything near the depth of combat I found in the demo, so I'm really looking forward to trying the full game out!

After playing the demo on the 360, I had issues with both the art style and the camera. It's interesting to note that this game is a supposedly a precursor to a future MMO when they're aping WOW's artistic style so clearly. As for the camera, the default view is too tight and low for my taste. That perspective, along with the lack of a lock on, affected my enjoyment of the combat negatively.

My final experience with the game was a hard freeze after meeting the Fateweaver knight, so I'd have to say my overall impressions of the game were bad overall.

Thanks for the heads up! Now I can send my gamefly copy back. I've already put in 60 hours over 2 characters and can't see stopping soon.

All of their points can be answered with "A different person with different standards and tastes reviewed Uncharted 3."

@Cyrisaurus:

A couple of your previous posts about Uncharted 3:

"I would bet my life that this game that this game becomes the crown jewel of this generation."

"This will be the best game of all time. I don't care what anyone says. I would marry this game if I could."

And you created the topic: "I FUCKING TOLD YOU ITS GOING TO BE THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME."

I didn't check but I wonder what game that could be in reference to...

So, before you go insinuating that people who think you're a bit biased towards liking a game are akin to racists, make sure you're not EXTREMELY BIASED towards liking it.
