There also needs to be a hardware revolution -- digital and streaming only, no more discs.

The problem is that gaming is such a relatively new media so people have trouble criticizing games and also trouble taking criticism about games. Writers are not up in arms about the New York Times Book Review or others, reviewers are fickly and meant to be. Like Walter Mossberg says of his tech reviews, he is always stating an opinion, like a food critic or movie critic. No one is trying to find the truth and there is no such thing as a fair or unfair review. If someone wants to judge a game based on the universe of potential games rather than on its peers of linear games, so be it. If people are too immature to accept subjective scores from reviewers, then they will have to deal, reviewers should not at all cater to complaints about reviews.

@Griffinmills: probably because microsoft is an american company and sony isn't.

xbox has so many good games but for exclusives i agree with gears of war series, alan wake, and halo series, particularly reach for competitive multiplayer. if you have experience with pc games then you might find the fable series too simplistic (atlhough i only played the second one). the worst game is halo wars.

people love their consoles so much that they will remain loyal to microsoft, sony, whoever no matter what.

Comcast employees are obnoxious and idiotic, the only reason I use it is because they have a monopoly on residential broadband in my area.

If Microsoft is still in business in 2013.
