Honestly, contract work seems like the right call.

Danny does some really important stuff with Noclip though, so I hope he gets contracted to do some more of that, but through GB. I'd like to see Noclip as a whole on here to be honest.

Glad to hear Dan Ryckert wanted to do some contract work for the site. I will now secretly hope for a show with Dan Ryckert and Xavier Woods.

It also makes me think about how weird it would be to contract these new upstarts "Nextlander" for some stuff. It sounds super awkward.

There's also so many honorary duders that would be great for this kind of stuff if they only could. Adam Boyes, Dave Lang, John Vignocchi... The list goes on.

I'm surprised to see Ori was so well received. I remember everyone except Brad hating the original but maybe I'm misremembering.

This makes me so incredibly happy. I hope they add steam wallpapers, badges and stuff too. I rarely care about that stuff but for Persona 4 I'll make an exception and go all in. If this game has Steam Achievements I need to get 100%.

I dunno. I don't think CCGs translate that well into digital. I've tried a few digital CCGs but nothing really sticks. You just can't beat the feeling of cracking boosters, sleeving cards, putting cards into binders... it's very meditative. And just that feeling of holding the real physical cards and playing the actual thing.

Yeah... that's unfortunately also a very good point.

Still, I'm excited for the new digital version of Doomtrooper (which I hope is still in development). It's crazy to think they're bringing that one back. I hope it does well enough for them to start printing the real thing again, but I doubt it.

I only recently (~2014) got into MTG. Have about zero interest in "Arena". I just don't think WOTC really understands how fun MTG can be. There's also a huge disconnect between their digital releases and the real thing that they just never seem to solve or get right. I've played Duels 2013, 2014, 2015 and that free to play thing they made. Origins or whatever? I even forget what it was called.

I dislike the way they made the cards look in Arena and the user interface. It's like they're chasing that Hearthstone money without understanding what makes Hearthstone good. Not that I particularly care for Hearthstone, but still...

Speaking of physical CCGs though, I just ordered a box of MTG Unstable which I'm excited about. MTG will probably keep me going until Doomtrooper.

As for Artifact, I was a bit skeptical at first and when they finally showed the three board system I was like NOPE and now I have have negative interest in the game, so there's that.

Edit: voted "I'll stick with a smaller CCG" and I'm assuming there's not gonna be a lot of hype for Doomtrooper.

Not exactly a video game but I've been trying to find an old table top game.

Here's what I remember:

• The characters had square bases
• The characters were made of cheap plastic with no moving parts
• One of the creatures was an Orc.
  

  The orc was completely dark green (weapon, armor and all) and I'm not sure if you were supposed to paint them or something because I remember the whole thing had the same color. I don't remember ever painting them though.

  I remember this one orc in particular that was holding a sword over his head but not like in a charging motion, more of an arc so that his arm was raised and the blade went over his head almost towards his other shoulder, if that makes sense.

• The figures were very small, like almost exactly an inch tall.

• I think there was some kind of playfield.
• This was some time in the early 90s or late 80s but could be earlier (like a second hand/hand-me-down kind of thing)

@vortextk: Good tips! And yeah, the game totally looks like it's a thing you'll learn over time so the extra resources will be super helpful.

@soulcake: Digital Foundry just posted this video and it looks like the textures aren't actually working properly on the PC version, along with some other settings. Hope they'll patch it.
