There are some rumors floating around (such as this thread on neoGAF) that the price cut might be coming to the MS store in Canada. So anyone who is tempted should probably wait until after November 2nd before making any decisions.
If this is true I may have to order it form the online store. They have free shipping, too. That X1+Kinect+AC4+AC:U bundle is such a great deal.

I think you are suffering from this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-purchase_rationalization D4 was "average" at best, Ori is coming to PC and "early" Tomb Raider 2 is coming to everything else.That leaves you with only one competent exclusive which is Sunset Overdrive which might suffer the same fate as Ryse and Dead Rising 3 eventually being ported to PC.
I think you coming in here to essentially tell someone that he made the wrong purchase and that he's only trying to justify it is really fucking weird. He has totally legitimate reasons for wanting an X1.
I really hope they do drop the price up here. I was under the impression that they would, because the **'s beside the official statement seemed to insinuate that it eventually will, though not at the same date as the US one:
"** Regional availability and timing outside the U.S. will vary."
Saying that it WILL vary... kind of makes it seem like it might come but maybe we won't get the same bundles/timing/or amount discounted. The Xbox One is actually pretty cheap up here though - Canada is the cheapest place in the world to game, did you know? With I think Brazil being the most expensive.
Anyway, I really hope they make a bundle, but I still think we have it really good up here. Microsoft not increasing the price of the X1 while Sony increased the PS4 really made me like MS a little more.
The fact that people can get irked about a $50 price drop on X1 bundles, a AMAZING deal (especially the Assassin's creed bundle - that's $100 worth of game ALONE, plus the price drop, that you're saving), shows how fucking whiny and shitty gamers are. It's absolutely insane.
This discount just reinforced 100% my decision to get an X1 in a month or two.
I suspect that Microsoft was researching how to incorporate their old family sharing rule and Sony got wind and implemented their own version. It is a good idea but honestly I would never use it, having to get the other guy to confirm every hour that I am allowed to play again is a deal breaker. It would feel like I'm pestering them. And when he's letting say 1 or 2 other people play his games, that's gotta be really fucking annoying having notifications pop up all the time asking if someone can keep playing. Not to mention when I am letting people share my games.
Not only that, but if I want to play more and if he's not at the TV or whatever, that could be an annoying wait until he returns.
It's obviously a step in the right direction, though. It'll be interesting to see Microsoft's version.
I'm reminded of a story Jeff once told on an old Bombcast about his band, Midnight Brown. Jeff said that when they sold CDs for 5 dollars each, they actually ended up selling fewer CDs for that price than they did for 15 dollars. It's not just about providing value, it's about providing perceived value.
With that in mind, I'm not sure if this was the best thing MS could have done.
I think that's totally different. This is a video game console, a console that has been getting some great games as of late. Not a Midnight Brown CD. Putting the "for two months only" thing will also help I think because people know that it will return to it's original price - this way, the perceived idea of a limited time deal has more grounding and gives more reason to buy one now. Also the Midnight Brown CD was cut to 1/3rd it's original price. If X1 did that we'd be seeing 133.33$ X1s, never gonna happen.
Do you think this will come to Canada? The IGN article about it says North America, and there are mentions of outside the US, but I can't find anything about it.
That's it. Reviews for this game are too much. The hype has set in and I am now going Xbox One first this gen. Thanks Microsoft for making me spend so much goddam money.
