With technology these days its very hard to damage a card/cpu through overclocking. Overclocking is probably the best way to get more from a product however not all products Overclock well.

This thread is ridiculous, Direct X has always been released on a some what frequent basis, everyone just got too used to DX 9 which should be seen as the exception rather than the rule of how long they should last.

"Damn DX10 and 10.1 was a complete waste imo, even thoug I have vista and own a dx10 card I still don't think DX10 is that good.

Plus, Assassins Creed is the only game that uses DX10.1 ad nvidia doesn't wanna support it.

As long as our DX10 cards can run DX11 stable and good I am fine with it
"
Actually, Nvidia with the recent succes of the HD 4xxxx series have decided to put DX10.1 on the succesor to the GTX 200 series, this shows DX10.1 will definetly be used in the near future.

"That cards rating is magical. Why didn't they put 9800gtx2 in there mmm?"
the HD 4870x2 outperforms the every single Nvidia dual or single Slot solution right now, including the 9800x2.
"
Ahh IC, by how much?"
The gap is quite big between the 9800GX2 and the HD 4870 X2 (As if even beats the GTX 280 SLI in some tests) , here are the benchmarks, http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3354&p=4

"If this was true why would nvidia the giant let ati produce much better cards for cheaper?"
your looking at it in the short-term only, in the long-term if they switch between who produces the best card for each 'gen' then there at least guaranteed good revenue for up to 10 years, and as we know firms love stability more than anything.

"Think a lot of people are focusing too much on the PC piracy stuff.... just for the record, there is just as much piracy going on with xbox 360 games and PS3 games as there is with pc's, do a search for stuff and you'll be quietly surprised just how much console stuff is and can be ripped,  but PC always takes the front end of this kind of thing.
"
ActuallyI don't think you can pirate ps3 games yet.
"
yet... I hope it will never be possible to pirate ps3 games, but its only a matter of time.
"
I dunno its been a while
"
Well actually you can pirate Ps3 games, however its quite a bit expensive with all the Blu-ray.
