This was legit one of my favourite GB things in a while. Would absolutely take more competitions in this vein (even if it were right down to the "cross a map with no fast travel" mechanic). Dan as the Games Master is such a perfect fit.
Great to have Danielle on - always enjoyed hearing her on Waypoint Radio back in the day. Appreciate the GB team reaching out to Fanbyte people after everything that went down yesterday. That site was really cool and had a ton of talented writers and staff there, so it's a real bummer to see it almost completely canned so suddenly.
I would have been happy just to see Ishin localised, so to get a full Dragon Engine remake... That's about the most exciting game news I've heard in a while, and it's been a busy time.
for as much talk as there was in goty discussions about tekken 7 i'm surprised at how weak the character endings were with this one . guess it was just the story mode that was crazy .ahh well it was a good run while they lasted .
Tekken 7 is the best-playing it's been in a while. It's always been a solid competitive game, but there's a reason Tekken 7 has lasted as long as it has and now still actively rivals Street Fighter and Smash as the most-watched game at the major tournaments like EVO.
The story mode in Tekken 7 is cool - it winds around the entire story of the Mishima and Kazama family, retelling basically the entire events of the whole series to date with additional details and sequences that let you play out moments from Tekken history that were previously only shown in cutscenes. THat said, it's framed by a narrator who is immensely boring to listen to, which really holds it back from being something truly special.
Heck, Tekken 7 even takes out some of the most popular "casual" modes like Team Battle (some of my friends still hold that against the game to the point where we play 6 or Tag 2 when we get together locally). It should speak to just how strong the gameplay is that despite all Tekken 7's flaws it's still the first game in the series I would elevate to the level of Tekken 3 (a game absolutely packed to the brim with bonus features) - and that really does come down to just how good it feels.
