You do mention that you want to have a conversation about it, but It's going to be hard to connect with people who share your frustrations when you don't lay out a realistic view of things. I feel like you might get the conversation you want if you lose a lot of the hyperbole, otherwise this conversation will likely be around correcting the exaggeration. Condescension not intentional ;)

So yeah, I can't agree that things are getting longer and longer because it's just not the case. Things have been longer in the past. Also, I can watch almost every video they put out in well under 2 hours, because it's rare for something to be that long. I also can't agree that longer ='s worse, it's a case-by-case thing.

But is it time for shorter videos? Shorter QL's for sure, but that's been a kinda needed thing for a while (debatable). I think the new shows are the right length, they don't feel padded or over-stay their welcome to me in general (and still not 2+ hrs long :P).

At this point everyone should wait until the AMD cards are reviewed. If anything they announced yesterday is accurate, the 6800XT should be very good.

Without DLSS or some equivalent, it kind of doesn't matter to me how good their benchmarks are. The difference DLSS makes on performance is massive, so even if AMD is able to match base performance of equivalent Nvidia cards, without a DLSS type solution they are still very far behind.

It seems like 'super resolution' (I think it was called) is going to be their attempt at something like DLSS, though they are being tight lipped about it. It's going to be based on DirectML, which is part of the open source FidelityFX suite. I expect it will start out considerably weaker than DLSS, but in time will get better as the software improves.

For me though, I'm still more of a fan on rendering in the resolution that I'm playing at so it's not a deal breaker for me. I'll go in the price/performance direction... unless DLSS becomes a thing in VR in the next several months.

If you go into HDR research that the panel is actually a true 10 bit panel. HDR marketing is so confusing, and there is SO much faked HDR support. For the $500 price point I would bet that you couldn't easily find yourself a true HDR panel. Better to stick with other criteria for choosing your monitor like grey-to-grey time, light bleed, viewing angle, refresh rate. Don't pay extra for a phoney "HDR 10+ supported" sticker.

Oh hey, thanks, I didn't know this. I've definitely been hanging out to play this on my Vive. I guess it's about time for me to check out the Epic Games Store anyway.

My guess was Spec ops: The Line... While it is a bad guess, it is far more believable than the truth.

If your using a shield and are early with your parries, press and hold block when you parry - if you are early, at least you still get normal shield damage reduction if you get hit.

They just can't make everyone happy. The best they can do is deliver content in a ratio that makes the most sense based on their analytics. It's sucks if that ratio doesn't agree with your tastes, but that's the way the biscuit breaks.

If you increased quick looks and reduced the other features, you would have people complaining about that too (likely more).

Probably Heroes of Might and Magic 3, but it's possible that Runescape beat it to 1000.
