Faith - "Because it isn't Knowledge."

This will be highly offensive to the Christian, Muslim and Jewish belief systems. - NOT the people. And if the people are offended, well, that's too bad.

"Some people need faith in their lives." = "Some people needs to not think sometimes in their lives."

"I am a man of religious faith." = "I am a man who is so secure in my beliefs that I don't need knowledge."

Religious faith is stupidity tolerated and respected, and for some reason, attacking a person's faith (stupidity) is wrong. - Now, I totally dig idiots for the sake of entertainment, but when these people's beliefs comes up in politics, like Rick Perry's, then something is fucked up, royally.

I am one of the most critical person's there is when it comes to religious beliefs. I tend to think that religious thinking is causing brain damage. Do I have evidence for such things? Yes. Scientifically proven evidence? Yes. It actually causes real brain damage. - Now get this, it is not to be offensive that I say this, it is merely truth. I know people tend to dislike truth on these forums, reflecting back on previous topics, but hey.. If you can't handle reality, you're going to have a hard time.

Next, a fun clip. You will laugh, I guarantee you that... but who are you really laughing AT? Your own beliefs? Well, if you are religious. Most likely.

There is a long pause at 54 seconds, just hit play and the video continues.

Okay, I take it that you have watched, and laughed. - Your thoughts? - I personally find it incredible that the arabic man can believe in this total BULLSHIT.

Now, reflect upon your views. - I personally do not involve myself in supernatural nor faith based nonsense because I am not a fucking idiot. Yes, people who believe in things for which there is no evidence for are idiots in that very sense.

Next: Christianity, eviscerated by the great, late Sir Christopher Hitchens.

"The bible never encourages slavery." - It specifically tells you HOW to sell your daughter into slavery. (Ex 21:7) - If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve... (Ex 21:2) - And Jesus recommends savage beating of disobedient slaves. (Lk 12:46-47) - And, "Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear..." (1 Pet 2:18)

Lastly, Judaism is massacrated, rightfully so, for its barbaric genital mutilation tradition.

Glad to see you posted this on a video game forum. You are being extremely helpful, and will persuade many.

I used to be angry at religion when I was 20-ish for the same reason. Then I realized how vain it was. What the fuck do I know about absolute truth and knowledge, do I even want it to exist?

Short answer... don't think you're better than anyone because of their beliefs.

Another Yagami thread? I'm ready.
Posted by Brendan

Alright, from now on I'm lumping Yagami threads in with AnimalFather threads and Jay44111 threads. That category would be the "complete lack of self awareness and perspective" section.

Those threads should have their own forums.

I don't think this is possible. You can't offend something a person holds dear to their heart without offending the person.
The "scientifical" evidence that religion causes brain damage is pretty interesting, though. I'm a big fan of anything scientifical.

Someone who puts this much effort into an anti religious thread in a video game forum has some serious issues.  You're just as annoying as the Jehovah's Witnesses who go door to door preaching their kooky beliefs.
Are you looking for someone who is religious to read this thread and suddenly abandon their faith?   As someone who is an atheist but also not an asshole I love having a live and let live attitude about religion.  Or maybe I should abandon my Jewish and Christian friends for being retarded or at the very least berate them daily for believing in an invisible dude in the sky.

Religion is pretty stifling to society, maybe it will be a very small minority someday. Give it 100 years.

@Yagami: Dude just go away. You already gave away your age so it's obvious this is all just your teenage angst. No teenager has studied enough to even grasp anything related to the science actually required to debate intellegent design vs evolution.

I am a Christian and I am in doing my Masters in Statistics. I have been on the dean's honours list the whole way through so I'm gonna wager I am a lot smarter than you. You are being incredibly offensive and divisive. I come here cause I like games & Jeff & posse, who wants this crap on a gaming forum? I swear I will never look at this trash again. I'm sure Giantbomb & Whiskey Media doesn't appreciate you doing this. And based on the above comments no one does.

Don't worry all, it only takes a real researcher to hammer down on Yagami, our local low IQ giantbomber. The Results merely captures correlation, in fact they did not include significance levels because they are insignificant. These people have gone in with preconceived conditional expectations, they have actually not properly controlled for age which renders their results absolutely null. A sample of 268 when your planning to break down the results into categories is ridiculously small.

Unfortunately Yagami, you are an ignorant moron, but its okay to keep on thinking that your not, some people use religion to make themselves feel better, others tell themselves they are really smart and critical, whatever floats your boat.

That was a really ignorant statement. Its not like intelligent design holds any scientific merit, and because the theory of evolution needs no real scientific understanding to grasp the concept I don't really see the point your trying to make?

But yes I totally agree with you in the fact that this has no place here.

Faith in religion is for most people no different than belief in science.

Some people place their faith in religion.

Others place it in scientific principles that are far beyond their own understanding.

I can't fathom why you decided to have this outburst of Video game forum. I know it's off topic and all but this site is kinda meant to be laid back, I can't understand what you think you are achieving by doing this. Your way of presenting your ideas is also messed up. You don't acknowledge the other point of view, you just call it bullshit and move on. Just think for a moment why some people are religious, you don't have to agree with their reasoning. No one is forcing you to be religious so you shouldn't be forcing people to be atheists . Your ideas are not the same as others. Not everyone has to think like you. I'm an atheist just like you but I'm not trying to shove it down the throat of the giant bomb community.

This, most people who aren't scientists but believe in scientific principles actually fail to understand how much subjectivity goes into science. Even physics was taking Einsten's formula for granted only to have it disproved. There are thousands of assumptions made in every study that people who aren't in the scientific community take for granted, all those food studies you hear about are laughable at best, sometimes you see science researchers playing around with tools data that is subjective but since its published under neuroscience journal, people take it for granted.

Who the fuck is this guy and what's up with his bombastic blogs?

Also why does he feel the need to tell me that he's gay on his profile page?

Posted by the_OFFICIAL_jAPanese_teaBAG

At this point I just know hes trolling just so he can get a stupid discussion going on the internet....

No fucking shit faith isnt knowledge, clearly someone as smart, wise and bright as you didnt have to point that out on a blog post on a video game site!  Seriously, post this somewhere else like on Facebook and share it with all your friends because Im sure they would care too.  Oh wait, I guess you dont have any thats why youre presenting your controversial ideas here just for attention...

OK, these "intellectual" threads were being tolerated for a while, perhaps to a fault, but this is getting to the level of outright flame-baiting the userbase with the blanket statements being made.

If you absolutely must continue these blogs, I recommend not attaching them to the forums. That way, you'll be more likely to hear comments and criticism from people more interested in your writing.

Thanks.
