The only thing in this list that bothers me even slightly is the lack of external HDD support. Who knows, maybe they'll firmware update it in later. I plan to do a lot of digital purchasing though, so at 50+GB a game, I'm going to have to invest in a bigger HDD.

I really hope whatever their project is actually comes to fruition and is great. Almost all sounds too good to be true.

Can't say I ever used more than 4 controllers on any console, even my PS3. Every now and then we would have a get together with beer/pizza and play Madden or NBA 2K, but I only had 2 controllers and two of my friends would bring 2 more.

That's a rarity nowadays anyway...since I've been married and most of my other friends are engaged/married/etc, most of my gaming time is solo or 2 player coop online. So none of this really bothers me at all. I can't imagine a situation where I would have 8 people in one place all trying to play a game at the same time!

Split screen is definitely in there. Played it on PS3 with my buddy a few days ago.

Sony's list looks real lackluster. Hoping there's more to it that they just haven't confirmed yet.

@bigguy7343: wow...that sounds like a bummer. Never had that happen before so I'm not sure how to fix it. Did you have a save or checkpoint save you could roll back to?

Should I get Dark Arisen? I bought the original release but only played it for like 3 hours. I liked it, just I had other things to do. Then Dark Arisen came out and I lost all drive to play it.

From what I understand there are some benefits to having an original DD save when you play Dark Arisen, not the least of which is a ferrystone (used for fast travel) that has infinite uses. So much so that people were recommending renting the original just to get save data to import. I think DD:DA is only like $40 right now so if you never played through the first one and you're still interested and want to play it then it may be worth investing in. I'm sure others here may have more input than myself as I never had the original.

@barrock: Sure, why not. You have to pay attention to incoming attacks and such, especially in the early game, but not a lot of it is on sound tells, more so animation. You should pay attention to main story quests and cutscenes, but if you wanted to have a podcast session you could just wander around doing notice board quests (read: side tasks like "kill 20 bandits" or "kill 2 ogres" etc) for money/exp without worrying about missing any major exposition.

Just fair warning though...sometimes you'll get attacked out of the blue by some creature waaay more powerful than you. You can usually get away pretty easily if you don't die, but if your sound is down you may miss the big roar or whatever that signals them coming. Just save often. :-)
