Oh man, I hadn't checked this thread in a couple of days, and this went from awesome to super incredible.

Any chance of a wizard or robot Rich Gallup?

Punch-wipe, go!

EDIT: Oh man, he's already there! I love you! Er, I mean...

@Jay444111 @DillonWerner : You guys are killing me with these dubbed Dragonball clips, killing meeee! ;)

Only joking. But since these are two of my favourite scenes in the original, in the fairness of comparison, here's the subbed videos and why I prefer them:

Again, not to deride your enjoyment of the dubbed versions... but I just couldn't resist! ;) And now I'm tempted to post all my other favourite moments right back to Goku and Kuririn training for the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai. :P

(For the love of god don't read the YouTube comments on those videos. As you can see, people are utter jerks on both sides of the sub/dub debate).

And now for something completely different!

Great intro, or greatest intro? I can't believe no-one posted this yet with all the Batman: TAS talk! And the mask clip posted is amazing, too.

@AngelN7: Yeah, I can see your point there. For all my ranting about the inaccuracies of the English dub, I have heard that the other dubs (specifically the Spanish and Cantonese dubs; supposedly they even got accurate Mystical Adventure and Cha La Head Cha La translations!) were very respectful.

Mr. Satan dude ... did they really change the name for the north american version? that's dumb but I can see why.

Yeah. His name was Hercule and practically every kid who watched DBZ knew that back then.

Also, just listened to the Japanese dub, I gotta say... I think the english dub was better for him. IMO at least.

Well In the Latin american dub he was Mr Satan and his first voice was alright , now the Japanese dub I can't watch that Goku sounds like a little kid! it's crazy!

Oh dude. I know. When I heard his voice I had to pause it. Then pull up the english version of the same video because I just couldn't take the Japanese one seriously. Goku sounds like a kid in the Sub version!

I won't get into a dub versus subs rant here, since I end up doing that any time Japanese Dragon Ball is mentioned on GB (except to say that the pre-Kai American dubs were about the most inaccurate things imaginable), but Goku's original voice sounding like a kid is kind of the point. It's supposed to reflect the innocence of his character. It probably sounds crazy if you're getting that "I can't take him seriously" vibe from a couple of clips, but that original Japanese voice really does suit him perfectly if you follow his character from the beginning of Dragon Ball; when the character grows up and his voice only matures a little, it helps make the contrast more powerful in situations where he has to be serious. If that makes any sense!

Also registering my interest to see that video! I've been refreshing the "subscriber" sub-section of the videos all week for it. I'm really curious how they're handling the site re-design.

Obligatory, "I had a C64 and Kikstart 2" post. ;) And I think I actually saw the TV show "Kick Start", even though I was only five years old when it was last broadcast.
